Hurricane Irma

  1. Just wanted to send my support and prayers out to anyone in the path of Hurricane Irma. Our school district has made today an early release day and No School tomorrow or Monday. A lot of parents are frustrated and think it's an overreaction; hopefully, they prove to be right.

We're out tomorrow and Monday, so far. We'll see what happens after that. I think we'll be leaving with my 95 y/o mother. We're in a flood zone so if they evacuate we'll be going. Stay safe.

I hope you both stay safe! And I don't think it's a overreaction!
I rather be prepared for the worst and have the best case scenario happen.

Get the HELL out of there soon and don't come back until the all clear is sounded; once the stuff starts hitting the fan it's too late and you can't get out. What a lot of people don't understand is how overwhelmed the highways get in a very short period of time and you don't want to be in a position of running out of gas while you're trying to evacuate; like what happened in Houston a few years ago. People ran out of gas while stuck in the gridlock of those trying to evacuate and then had no where to go.

I keep praying this witch will veer off at the last minute and die a quiet death out in the ocean. Otherwise, please, GOD be with those in her pathway.

i have good friends directly in the storm's path in Florida. I pray that they have gotten out of Dodge safely at this point as that was the plan last I heard.

I hope ya'll evacuate. Houston wasn't under mandatory evacuation, but Florida is? Means something.

I live in Miami and am going to be working during the hurricane as part of the disaster team. Praying it won't be more than a few days, but am bringing a ton of supplies for while I'm living at the hospital just in case.

Stay safe folks in its path! Just looking at the photos of the area hit thus far are no joke. I, too, hope it takes a random last minute turn, but get out if instructed.

Obvious observation here; get out if you can, get your family and any pets you might have out if you can't leave yourself. Hopefully you have time to evacuate your loved ones and possessions that can't be replaced like old family photos. If this storm hits as expected it's going to be a doozy.

I would like to help with the disaster relief if I'm needed but don't know where or what to do about a temporary nursing license. I went to the Florida nursing website and there's no information on it regarding hurricane disaster relief. Does anyone have any information?
