Just sent a kiddo to ER w/ mom. Presented with numb and tingly R face and arm, floaters (green) in R eye, possibly a twitch/droop on R side of face. Don't know the child well enough to know what is normal. Hoping for an ocular migraine at best; or Bells Palsy... and praying for it not to be a neurological event.

I have been down this road before with kids and the outcome has not been good.

I will keep you posted

Goodness, hope all is well.

Green floaters? I have never heard of floaters in color before.

When I have an ocular migraine, it looks like the afterimage of a camera flash. Kinda like an oil spill? So I can see how there could be a greenish tinge. Hoping that's all it is!

Hope everything is ok with this kiddo. Glad the PCP is on top of things!!!

He picked up on an neuroblastoma that another pediatrician dismissed...

What is your nursing intuition telling you? Hope all ends well.

Good thoughts sent. I sometimes see rainbow colored zig-zags with my occular migraines.

GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!

Migraine!!!! With a follow up to neuro on Fri! My spidey sense said migraine, but I have had students end up with brain tumor with exact same sx so I don't like to to wait and see. Mom was very appreciative of rapid referral!

Yay!

And Wow on the fast neuro referral as well - your quick referral to the ED likely helped that progress rapidly as well.

Great news!! Well, not great that the kid has migraines, but great that it isn't anything scarier than that!!!
