When i first applied I had a 3.0 gpa, and a 20 on the ACT... I didnt get in with that,, I had to retake some things,, and got my gpa up to a 3.5, and scored 22 on the act second time i took it... also,, if you get a 22 or better on the act, you may can get some scholorship money, so keep that in mind. If you already have a bachelors in something else,, thats probably the only help you will get financial wise.

pre-reqs, 4.0
overall gpa, 3.82
I did not fail any pre-reqs. It took me a year to finish them, but I already had a college degree from years ago.

I had a 3.9 I only applied once to one school. Extremely lucky. Cox college in Missouri. I only repeated classes that were old it did not help or hurt my GPA since I had a A in those classes and received a A the second go around. My school goes by GPA only so no entrance exam for me. I was able to apply after two semesters. So it took two semesters to get in and I have four semesters til I graduate. I did take a lot more classes then you had to a semester and that is because I wanted to focus on my nursing classes when I got accepted. So I am done with my preqs this summer. Good luck to you. The number one thing that helped me I think was to treat every class like it is a nursing class.

2.5 cum. gpa
3.9 pre-req gpa
applied once to one school after a year of doing pre-reqs. I'm going to quit my corporate job, so I can focus in NS and hopefully get into grad school in a couple of years. I am taking this acceptance as if it was a second chance with education and I'm def gonna try my best and not fool around like I did before. I'm already 25 and I wish I had my act together back then....

first time i got in i had a 3.1 cum. gpa. failed nursing 1 clinical, which knocked it down to a 2.3. i then got into a program with 400+ applicants, of which they only chose 60.
i failed statistics, and had to withdraw midsemester in A&P 2 and retake it because i felt i was in danger or failing, but i ended up with a B the second time around.
as you can see, grades arent always everything. i scored in the 98th percentile in my ATI admissions exam, did a lot of volunteering, got a cna job and just explained myself and my determination at my admissions interview.

Grades are everything...if not, it makes up 95% whether or not you're gonna get in. I'm not sure where you go to school, but in majority of the schools (esp in states like ny and cali), grades determines if you'll be accepted into NS.
