Anybody thinking about El Centro/ Northlake in the DCCCD for Jan 2006?

That would be terrible if someone typed the wrong address....uggggh!

I'm not in Texas, but I'm waiting on a letter also. The school I want is in Clarksville, which is an hour and a half away. I got a letter from a school that is almost 4 hours away in exactly 2 days, so I'm hoping that this school will only take one. Geez, don't these schools know I would have paid money to have it overnighted if it were gonna take longer or I would have driven to Clarksville and picked it up from their post office? I'm really anxious, or couldn't you tell? I don't think I will make it to Monday and pleeeeeeeese don't tell me someone dropped or misrouted my poor THICK envelope. I just know I got in and all I want to do is see the words ''We are pleased to inform you" or '' Congratulations" . I'm praying for all the other applicants, fingers and toes crossed ---all that.

When I applied to nursing school, I didn't get in at my first choice school...or my second. I got in at my fourth choice but hubby refused to move (It was 4 hours away). I was waitlisted at my second and third choices, and wouldnt you know it, 1 week into the semester I got a call telling me to report to class from BOTH! I had to make a quick decision and started that semester at my third choice (it was closer to home than my second choice - but looking back I should have done it the other way and gone the BSN route right up front instead) At any rate, I wasnt proud - I ran right over there and got it all handled and started class the next day! I had to drop the extra pre-reqs I was taking at another college towards my BS, but I wasnt going to let it go by!

If I had not gotten in that semester I would have started a BSN program the following semester as all my pre-reqs would have been done by then. It would have meant a delay of 4 months...In the long run - 4 mos would not have made a difference, but I sure was disappointed at not getting in right up front.

Point is - if you DONT get in, just know that there is a program out there somewhere that will be perfect for you and it WILL happen eventually! Don't give up no matter what!!!!

But Im betting nobody will need to worry about that here!

I admit I haven't read all of the posts on this thread, so sorry if I am asking something that you guys have already mentioned!

How do you know the letters WILL arrive today? I'm just confused on how they decide when to mail them so they have a specific arrival date. My dh is a mailman (good thing not in Dallas, so many good lookin girls chasing him down....:rotfl: not that he would mind:p , but the men waiting might scare him when you are chasing him down the street!!!). For those of you who don't gat it today :crying2: just be glad Monday is NOT a holiday (that's what would happen to me!!!)

Good luck to all of you! My mailman delivers our street last on his route, so I would be waiting till late late afternoon. Can't wait to see a new thread from all of you! Please make sure the first one to post the acceptance starts a new thread, since most of us observers won't catch it on this thread. Believe me...we outsiders are so excited, waiting to hear from you guys!

I know my letter is coming today because I called them and they said letters were mailed yesterday, so they should get here today. NOT Monday, but today. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Well, I received my letter this morning. I live in Garland. I don't usually get my mail this earily, but there it was waiting on me when I returned home from the store.

I MADE IT!!!!! I got the campus I wanted - El Centro

Good luck to all of you waiting on your letters! We should all find out TODAY!

We don't know when they will arrive, but they were to be mailed out BY today. However, they were mailed out yesterday, so hopefully we will all get them today!!!
