# College Algebra or Statistics? Pre-Nursing.

- 0Jul 27, '10 by SilikaHello, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what or what about the Statistics class is? I have a choice of College Algebra or Statistics course for me pre-reqs. Thanks!
- 1Jul 27, '10 by JackieBRCCStatistics is about the probability of ___________ occurring, or a odds against or for ____________. Taking a set of numbers (data set) and using them to find about 20 different numbers that are mostly some sort of "average". I hated stats. That's great that you get a choice! I had to take both. Had I gotten a choice, I'd take College Algebra any day!mariposabella likes this.

It's also a higher level math then College Algebra and to me it's easier. I took it in a combined Statistic, Trig, Precalculus course called Contemporary Math and it was easier than the Precalc stuff.

*caliotter3*Generally speaking, prenursing algebra, BSN statistics. Take both, starting with algebra, to meet the requirements of most programs. - 0Jul 28, '10 by IBCLCLittletonJennI have to take college algebra this fall but just took my stats final-I need both for the bsn program. Got a 94% in the class thankfully (after withdrawing from micro in week 7)
- 0Jul 28, '10 by mariposabellaQuote from JackieBRCCI agree I would take college algebra as well. I have taken regular stats and business stats and based on that I would take college algebra. Its easier. You just have to practice those math problems in oder to get good at them.Statistics is about the probability of ___________ occurring, or a odds against or for ____________.
