Hello, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what or what about the Statistics class is? I have a choice of College Algebra or Statistics course for me pre-reqs. Thanks!

Statistics is about the probability of ___________ occurring, or a odds against or for ____________. Taking a set of numbers (data set) and using them to find about 20 different numbers that are mostly some sort of "average". I hated stats. That's great that you get a choice! I had to take both. Had I gotten a choice, I'd take College Algebra any day!

Take Statistics most programs require it as a pre-req just in case you don't get into your first choice. It's also a higher level math then College Algebra and to me it's easier. I took it in a combined Statistic, Trig, Precalculus course called Contemporary Math and it was easier than the Precalc stuff.

Generally speaking, prenursing algebra, BSN statistics. Take both, starting with algebra, to meet the requirements of most programs.

I have to take college algebra this fall but just took my stats final-I need both for the bsn program. Got a 94% in the class thankfully (after withdrawing from micro in week 7:uhoh3:)

I had to have both but if I had a choice, I'd say college algebra over statistics at any time. You get more out of a solid algebra knowledge than statistics for most day-to-day calculations.

College algebra may be easier for most, however I agree that stats is a requirement for many nursing programs (it is in my program). So taking Stats would be a wise choice, in my opinion. Good luck to ya!

I agree I would take college algebra as well. I have taken regular stats and business stats and based on that I would take college algebra. Its easier. You just have to practice those math problems in oder to get good at them.

I had to have both college algebra and stats for my nursing program. Stats is way easier:D

I agree, stats is simple and repetitive.

Stats is a breeze.. I'd take it 100 over to avoid college algebra again

stats, most schools require it for nursing.
