I GOT INTO COLLEGE!!!!!!! I know it is not nurseing school yet but I am in college. I found out last night I am so happy!!!!

Congratulations!! :)

Specializes in Critical Care, Pediatrics, Geriatrics.

Congrats! And good luck applying for nursing school!

Congratulations and good luck!

Congratulations! Just keep in mind, do the best you can right from the start. Schools of Nursing are so competitive right now. They didn't tell us that even though 2.5 GPA was required to get in, if you didn't have at least a 3.3 you wouldn't make it in. My school took the top 40 GPA's, and over 150 people applied that semester, and that was already 4 years ago. Just keep that in mind . . . every class counts!:)

Specializes in CCRN.

Congratulations! Remember this feeling whenever you feel overwhelmed or need motivation and you will do just fine.

Yeah at my school the average GPA for nursing student's admitted is a 3.8. I keep track of my GPA like crazy, and unfortunately this semester I made my first B. That brought my GPA from a 4.0 to a 3.89 (cumulative). :(

Even if I make straight A's for the next few semesters it will only inch up by .01 of a point. So in other words it is really easy to bring your gpa down but hard as hell to bring it back up.

If that ain't the truth! :uhoh21:

I've had straight A's for the last 3 years. Unfortunately, I had a 3.0 coming back into school. Even with all those straight A's and 3 years, I am now up to a 3.5.

Take Shel's GREAT advice and do the best you can right from the start!!

Isn't that the truth, and it is terrible that we need to feel bad about awesome GPA's like yours???? Nobody should feel terrible about a B!!!! You are doing great and keep up the good work :wink2:
