  1. I think ER is definitely more accurate than those other shows, but still not close to reality. Now that I've gone through nursing school and am working as a nurse, I think ER is a lot more interesting. They actually use a lot of words that non medical people would not understand. Now Grey's Anatomy, while I do like to watch once in awhile, is totally off base. But that could be because that main doctor is so wacko !!!
  2. And, not to mention, the competitiveness never goes away. Even after 3 years in the School of Nursing, we were still all worried about who did better on what exam or paper, even though it really didn't matter anymore who had the best GPA. It was crazy!!!
  3. Congratulations! Just keep in mind, do the best you can right from the start. Schools of Nursing are so competitive right now. They didn't tell us that even though 2.5 GPA was required to get in, if you didn't have at least a 3.3 you wouldn't make it in. My school took the top 40 GPA's, and over 150 people applied that semester, and that was already 4 years ago. Just keep that in mind . . . every class counts!:)
