My textbook is by Martini. So far we have done chapter one, which was fairly easy, anatomical landmarks, directional terms, etc. THEN we did chapters one and two, cells and tissues. There is SO much information to memorize. Why am I on this message board? I should be memorizing!

I'm also using Martini. I have my first lecture exam tomorrow and my first lab exam next Friday. Of course, I'll be out of town this weekend. YIKES!!

Someone told me this first exam will be the easiest exam. Our school is on a 6 point scale which makes it more difficult to get a good grade. Anyhow, I'll let you know how I do.

Woohoo, I just logged in to WebCT and I got an A on my first exam! Now if I can get anywhere near an A on my upcoming lab quiz I'll be happy. Good luck to the rest of you all :)

Well I wish I got an A on the first test. We are using the Marieb book and our test on Tuesday was on Chapters 1-4. I did OK but not as good as I had hoped. I am studying away for the next test which is on the Skin. I am excited about taking a test on just one chapter.

hey you guys, nice to hear that some are to a good start, and for the others my sympathies are with you. well my first two days of classes have gone by fairly good. my professor is great, very cool and not scary. we are using Hole's edition for a&p. is anyone else? our first exam is nxt weds. but just on ch. 1, definitions, positions, and other relatively easy subjects. the one i'm iffy about is the lab practical, the labs lists are just long- so many words to know and remember. lets wait and see if my mind can hold itself together.

hope everybody does well on their upcoming first exam or has done well if already taken one. :)

My A&P class is using Hole's book too. The website is great too! Lots of practice exams!

we're still on epithelium in lab and on diffusion and stuff in lecture. off to make flashcards!

have i mentioned i'm scared? :)

ay-yi-yi. this is only our third week and we are supposed to have read/studied 6 chapters in the martini book. the amount of information is overwhelming !! plus, i am taking an on-line hybrid class, so i'm doing the lecture part on my own. thank god i have mondays off to study, study, study.

My instructor WROTE both the book and the lab manual....eeek! We have gone through the skin, integument, arthrology, myology, and finished the cardiovascular system today..aaaaaaaahhhh! Breathe, phew! He goes so fast (he's been teaching anatomy for 20 years...) I have to get back to my flashcards too. I just wanted to send a word of encouragement to everyone that WE CAN DO IT! :iconhug:It'll be rough but we can do it if we try. :) We only have 3 test this semester so the first one is on everything mentioned above plus the urinary and digestive systems...:specs:

Keely

Hey, today is our second lab and we are studying hearts! OOH! We have t trace a drop of blood through the heart (eek!) and we use cadavers and so everyone gets a REAL heart to hold in your hand and touch!:D Anatomy's hard but I love it! :p

Keely

hey everyone

I am just getting ready to take my first exam on Friday. I am a tad nervous, but I am confident in the material so far. This Thursday is my 2nd lab but I went in to practice a few more times. We are working with bones--- really awesome!!! So far this class has cemented my resolve to go into a health career. Thanks for listening-- I am off to work on my study guide!!

My first test is Monday over the first 4 chapters. We have only finished 2 so far so I guess we will go over the other two next class (we only have class Mon & Wed).

Has anyone had a test yet? I feel very nervous. This class is quick. I feel like I am treading water. Well better get back to making flashcards. I already had to open 2 packs.

When we studied the muscles with insertion/origin I even resorted to EXTRA large flashcards :chuckle

I have never had thicker notes, more xerox copies or more flashcards than in A&P1:rolleyes:

Study hard, good luck

Well I had my first test last Thursday, and we found at the results today...There were 4A's, 4B's 6C's and the rest didn't do so hot. I'm so thankful to say that I was one of the A's.... YEAH!!! :balloons:

we have our next test in about 2 weeks I think....but we have a quiz alomst every class period. So it's all going good...just lots to study...good luck to everyone !!!!!
