Study, study, study and then study some more. Never get behind on anything, try not to miss any classes. Tape lectures. Make this class a priority, and eliminate as many distractors as possible from your life (example needless chatting with neighbors, friends that are not taking the class etc.) turn your phone off, get a" DON'T DISTURB" sign for your front door. Get all your doctors appt out of the way prior, and have your meds refilled. Get your car serviced. Forget about nice looking hair and nails for 16 weeks , get lots of rest, exercise regularly and eat enough high quality foods. DON"T diet while in this class! Get good study partners if available. Take advantage of the resources in your study lab at your biology department (couldn't have done it without it). Try to establish good rapport with your teacher, don't matter how "unapproachable" he/she seems to be.
You will be in seclusion for 16 weeks, with very little outside contact, remember it shall pass!
I don't mean to scare you but I am approaching the end of my A&P1 class and I have a very difficult professor + I have a learning disability from a recent illness. It's been tough, frustrating, I have cried and I wanted to quit. This class has been the ultimate challenge for me, others might not think that way though, it all depends on your teacher.
But it is possible to make an A. If I am lucky I will get an A, all depends on my final next week.......NEVER give up!
Finally, VISIT this site DAILY :) We will be here for you if you need help or just venting. Things would have been so much worse Without this wonderful board and the great people on it.
Welcome sunnyhabibi. Don't worry we will all get through this together.
Thank you so much for your replies!!!! LOL i wear a hair cover so i don't have to worry what my hair looks like(ain't it great). I will definitely be posting here in the future. I just have to say "I can do this"!!! and it will happen.:)
I really don't mean to scare you, and tried to give things a little humerous twist......If I can do well with an absolute terrible professor you will do well also. I just have to work 3X harder than everyone else
It is a very demanding class and I hope that you have a good teacher, which is half the battle. Only t'ill Tues for me.....lecture test 4 and final at the same time! Intense studying this weekend.
