  1. I'm 19 and I got pregnant when I was 18. The summer right after graduating high school and going off to college. I got pregnant by my boyfriend of 2 years and it was a pretty tramatic experiance as a young person. Needless to say I didn't go off to the school I was accepted to but I'm doing just fine. I support my child and he has everything he needs and is healthy. I'm still with my boyfriend. I'm going to nursing school and doing excellent. It's a scary thing to have to tell your parents. Mine we're upset but as they put it, "What's done is done." Now that he's here, they say they couldn't live a day without him and neither could I. I think that in a younger persons case, like a 13 or 14 year old, the parents need to be happy about it otherwise they just don't know what else to do. It may not be what they wanted for their child but they shouldn't PUNISH them for it happening. They'll make it through, it'll be rough, but hopefully they will raise their kids right.
  2. No I wasn't posting in response to yours. I ment to reply to a post that was on the first page of the forum. lol. Sorry if it caused any confusion. SWFlorida has made a post that was on the first page and it just hit a nerve. Sorry if my post seems a bit harsh. :)
  3. I take SWFlorida's post as a bit offensive. I am 19 years old and I got pregnant when I was 18. I was practicing the correct birth control but things happen. I had to go and get Medicaid for myself and my child because I didn't make enough money with the job I had and my parents weren't going to pay for medical bills once they found out how much it would cost them. I DO NOT in ANY WAY think I am irresponsable just because I got pregnant at a young age and needed some help. I could understand where your coming from if the teenager has no job or stability. But I needed that medicaid help . I support my child on my own without help from parents and I have a job AND am in Nursing school making good grades and my son is the healthiest. If you think people are a BURDEN to society because they have children out of wedlock than its your own opinion I guess. But what about those of us who are RESPONSABLE? I dunno. Reading this just really upset me and hit a nerve because I take care of my son and am not irresponsable in ANY way shape or form. If I am an underachiever dear god please tell me how.
  4. I had my son 6 months ago and I'm 19. I got pregnant while going to school and ended up dropping out. I think getting pregnant that young took a toll on me and I just couldn't believe it. I mean I was pregnant by my fiancee and not just some random guy but it still was a shocker. I knew my life was going to be totally different. I had plans and dreams. Once my son was born though, I couldn't have been more happy. I got myself on track and am going to nursing school now. It's hard because I don't get to go clubbing everynight or hang out with my friends but I wouldn't change it for the world. Everyone always tells me how cute he is and how he's so stylish. I tell 'em it's cuz I'm young and stylish too. lol. Personally I wish it would've waited but it's a blessing and I wouldn't change it for anything.

  6. I goto a tech school called Career Training Solutions for my LPN. It is 17,000 for the whole 17 month program including books. We pay out of our pocket for uniforms but they only cost me maybe 40 dollars. I drive about 20 minutes there and 20 minutes back depending on traffic. I live near DC and traffic is a mess! :chuckle
