Thanks for the tip kgkarma!!

Well I started A&P this week and I am more afraid now than before. The teacher I was supposed to have is no longer teaching, therefore, we have a new teacher whom has never taught A&P and has never taught at my college. She seems unsure of the material and doesn't really know what is going on. She is very soft spoken (good thing I sat in the front).

We already have to know 2 list of parts and she didn't even show us on the dissectible torso. We have a quiz on them next lab. This is going to be horrible. I need to look around on the web for some good pics. I'll try some of these links.

The book I have is Anatomy & Phisiology Form and Function by Saladin. The lab is set up for fetal pig dissection.

Oh the other scary thing is that half of my HUGE class is there for the 2nd or 3rd time for failing this class!!!!!! HELP!!! :crying2: :o

Well I'm off to read 2 chapters and to make flash cards.

OK so I'm back. Just got done studing for 3 hours. I got through chapter one and got most of the end of the chapter questions right! :)

Ya know, this stuff is actually very interesting. I am going to try to be more positive. If others can do this so can I.

Is everyone else starting on the Body Cavities and Membranes and Organ Systems? This is the stuff we have to memorize first. Oh and we have to know the Anantomical positions and planes and some surface anatomy.

I'm in the same place as you are in class. My first exam is this coming Friday on Chpt. 1-4. We only have 2 hours left to complete chpt. 3 and finish chpt. 4 (tissue), before the test on Friday. :sniff: I know my instructor will be flying. The bookstore was out of the study guide and I just got it yesterday.

To make things worse, I have a 3 hour lab b4 the exam. A week from Friday is my lab exam. Don't know when I'm going to have time to study for that since I'll be out of town next weekend.

This certainly is challenging.

That's where we are at too. We just finished the introduction to A&P and we are starting on the planes, body cavatities, and organ systems. Lots of memorization coming up!! I also agree that you just have to remain positive and take it one day at a time.

i'm scared!! had my first week. we started with the tissues etc. so hard!! i'm scared!!!

Wow...I just got home from my first night of class and all I can say is holy s&%$ !!! I consider myself a decent student and I'm scared out of my mind. I'm glad we're all here to support each other...

I know what you mean. I had my first lab class today and we covered all of Chapter one. Wednesday, we will cover all of Chapter 2. We will have an exam over 1-5 and the bones on Feb. 13. I kind of feel like this. :chair: I have never felt so overwhelmed. I had to take a break from it. I have totally neglected Psychology, so I kind of worked on that some tonight. We just have to keep a positive attitude and believe in ourselves. I am just as scared as you are. :crying2:

I'm nervous about our first test. We would have only 5 classes before the test on the first 5 chapters. My professor kinda fools around too and takes away alot of class time. I guess a lot of this going to be self taught. I'm getting kinda nervous now....:uhoh21:

Anyone having any luck with A&P I online? I'm taking my class online, as I live 40 miles from the school. I'm doing ok so far, but I can't seem to get in touch with the professor. The labs are written for the classroom students, so there is some question as to what exactly I have to do. I'm not sure if I need to go to the Science Learning Center and do the labs, attend an actual lab class, or do nothing. I've emaild this professor several times regarding this. I don't mind attending lab class at all, I just need to figure out where I can work it in my schedule as I am a mother of 3 and a full time college student.

Last night was my 2nd class and we covered all of chapter 2. We cover a chapter a night. Chapter 2 was on chemistry and it seriously covered all of what I learned in Chem last semester in one chapter. If there are any people in my class who haven't had Chem before I do not know how they will make it. This class is crazy!! I want to cry. :crying2:

Right there with ya ! I am book smart, and in other classes I haven't had to study as much as my classmates, but Holy Cow. I feel like my brain doesn't have room for all the memorization that Anatomy requires !:crying2:
