Losing my religion
I take my religious beliefs seriously and I'm a Buddhist. I think that a nurse assuming that their religion is the one and only for me and my family is not only rude and condescending I think it's overstepping all kinds of medical boundries and would be very upset if one took it upon themself to use their doctrine to one of my ill family members. One of the nurses that I worked with asked a patient could she pray for him and I think she was out of line. If a patient ask you that's a different story otherwise just do your job to the best of our ability.

Do you ever get the feeling your professors are trying to weed you out?
Your attitude is all you have when you begin to feel insecure no matter what the reason. You must have the type of attitude where failing is not an option. There is generally one instructor that is willing to help if you can form a relationship with them. Ask for additional help in the areas where you are struggling and just hang in there. In nursing school if you fail a semester don't give up and just be determined to come back the next opportunity. In my graduating class there were many of the graduates that not only failed a semester at my school but had also failed in another school but they persevered. When I went to nursing school I was insecure many times but refused to be defeated. I formed a relationship with one instructor that when times got tough I could just go knock on her door and talk. I remember when I was struggling in clinical after her clinical class she told me to come after our class was over and she showed to what to do. You can handle this and make sure you're there for any additional labs or training whether it's before or after class. If a 65 year old high school drop out and do this so can you.

HELP!! My husband is killing my study schedule...
When he comes home have him watch the baby and you go to the library of Borders etc. to study. if you get a study buddy you all can meet and perhaps help each other. That being said, all study buddies aren't equal.

Ichieninii, I had the same experience that you're having with a CD that a friend gave me. If any of the CD's are discouraging you just leave it alone. I tried one of my friend's CD's are was getting in the 50's. I was so discouraged that I rescheduled my exam so when it gets closer to your exam, go back to your Saunders questions because if you're getting 80 to 90% you're ready for the NCLEX. Saunders questions are much longer and convaluted than NCLEX questions are but the rationals and strategies are much better than any I used. The day before I took my exam I didn't do any questions, had a nice dinner and just cooled out. I went into the exam feeling confident that i was ready even though I'd failed the exam the first time.

how long does it take to have your name online?
I know exactly how you're feeling because I felt the same way but have no fear, you've passed.

NCLEX PN stopped at 85
What made me think that I'd failed is that the majority of my questions were priority and the type of questions didn't change very much. I thought it continued to give me the same type of questions because I was answering them wrong.

NCLEX PN stopped at 85
i know exactly how you feel but don't despair. this was my 2nd test and i knew i'd failed especially since i got the last question wrong and i only remembered the questions that gave me a problem. when the computer shut off at 85 it scared me to death. i threw my hands up as though someone had hit me. to make things worse, i was the first person to finish and the assistance asked me was i finished already. :uhoh21: i called my friends and family and told them all that i'd failed and no matter what they said, they couldn't convince me any differently. low and behold, when i went online to get the unofficial results, i'd passed. even after that, i wasn't really convinced until the results were on the ncbon. in n.c. they said it'll take a month for you to get results but i received my results in about a week. if you have the money go get a massage or facial. this has been a long, difficult, struggle, and you deserve to be pampered.

I'm in LPN's have no problem finding jobs in assisted living/long term care facilities. Hospitals don't won't to pay us what we're worth so most LPN's don't work in hospitals unless they've been there for a long time. I just went to google and put in assisted living/long term care facilities and called them. I filled out the application on Wednesday and went for the interview Thursday morning and by noon, I was offered the position. Orientation begins on Monday. Non of my friends have had any problem finding a job. I must add that I checked with four facilities and all had some type of position but this one had 7am to 3 pm which is what I was looking for. Anyhow, good luck in your job search. I'm sure you'll find something soon. :redbeathe

I used all of the same books that you used but didn't think the flashcards were that helpful.
