How to hold back my crazy hair!

I have super thick hair! I have grown it long but it becomes unmanageable. I was given in my intro papers for school that I need to have my hair neat and off the shoulders. My problem is my hair hates me. I do plan on keeping it shorter then shoulder length but I need something to hold back my hair to keep it out of my eyes as seeing is important and I really don't want to touch my hair while giving care. Is a scrub hat too much for a year 1 student to wear?

Something that I have found that works for me are called Spin Pins, and they're made by Goody. I have thin hair, and have a hard time finding anything that will actually hold my hair. Since it works for my thin hair, I would think you would have no problem getting them to hold your thick hair.

I am also not the most skilled person at styling hair, but I have absolutely no trouble with them and it takes me less than a minute to throw my hair up. They're only about $5, and most grocery and drug stores carry them.

I have long thick hair and just went through an entire shift using a spin pin. Voila! One pin did the job of a hair tie plus a zillion bobby pins and 1/2 can of hair spray.

Keep your crazy hair longer and then just put it up in a bun with a hairstick.

I'm the queen of crazy hair, and I can make a hairstick bun in under ten seconds and it will last for an entire shift!

This is what my hair looks like when left to its own devices:

And now you know why my screen name is brillohead .... it looks like a rusty brillo pad scrubber!!!

i love those curls!!!!

I like your hair!:up::twocents:

I love your hair. I bought some spin pins and love them. I do find that may hair is a bit too short so I guess a trim is out of the question;)

Your hair is very pretty both curls and color. Mine is also thick but wavy. What i find that works, believe it or not, is any small claw clip and for loose ones, like long bangs, I'd use booby pins. What I do is put my hair in a french twist. I would need only one clip! Because the hair is twisted in, you can clip the outside part of the twist to a section of your hair next to the twist(where the twist line is) It pretty much seals it together. I went to my CPR class doing lots of compressions and it didn't even budge. Good luck. I hope this helps. :)

Thanks everyone... I can't take credit for the curls or color, though -- it's all God's doing!

And ScottE, my hair would need a "hairmet" the size of a super-sized beachball! :D
