How to hold back my crazy hair!

I have super thick hair! I have grown it long but it becomes unmanageable. I was given in my intro papers for school that I need to have my hair neat and off the shoulders. My problem is my hair hates me. I do plan on keeping it shorter then shoulder length but I need something to hold back my hair to keep it out of my eyes as seeing is important and I really don't want to touch my hair while giving care. Is a scrub hat too much for a year 1 student to wear?

I use those all the time. I love them. I have very fine thick hair and it is only a little longer than shoulder length. I can leave them in for clinicals and then for work afterwards with no problems. the only thing I add is a barrette for the baby fuzz in the front.
