If you interviewed and you immediately found out that you got the job? I didn't find any templates or sample letters like this. And I am TOOOO busy to do this anyway right now!

I would always write a thank you letter, thanking the interviewer for their time and opportunity. If you already have the job, I guess it is not a must; however, it would look good on your part to write one. You can do it in email form since you have the job and it will take 10 minutes.

You need a template or sample to write a thank-you note? Your grandmother is spinning in her grave. Get out the blue-black ink and plain notecard and say what you need to say.

Note: to get full impact of this message, it should display in Comic Sans, green. Thank you.

One of the best professional investments I have ever made is a $10 pack of fine paper note cards.

You have no idea how far a sincere thank you note will go, especially in this day and age.

If you have time to type this out, you have time to give credit where credit is due.

I would write a note thanking the interviewer for their time. IMO, it's just proper etiquette especially if you've decided to accept the job offer.

To be honest, I don't think a thank you note is necessary. After the interview, I shake their hand and thank them for their time. I think that's sufficient. I've never written a thank you note and I've gotten a job offer for every nursing job I've interviewed for.

Many people have been reduced to saying thank you for just the interview because that's all they're getting. You got the job! So, please, be a kind and decent person and express your appreciation. Not because it's part of the game, but because it's the right thing to do.

Need a template? Here it is:

Dear Ms. Powersthatbe:

Thank you for interviewing me on such and such a date. I enjoyed talking with you and hearing so many great things about XYZ facility. Our conversation reinforced my desire to become a part of this hospital (or whatever).

I thank you for selecting me to fill the position and look forward to starting on such and such a date.

With gratitude,

Joe Shmoe

Writing a proper thank you note is part of being a courteous adult. It shows you are aware of the world outside of your own head. And, whether you know it or not, people sometimes remember little things like this (or their absence), many years down the road.

I hope you can find the time to say thanks.

Oh, I don't know, not writing a thank you not doesn't seem rude or ungrateful to me. Everybody has their own set of morals and nothing is universal. I feel giving someone a firm handshake and a simple "thank you" is worth more than a letter. There are many people who might even think writing a thank you note to be pushy or weird. Different professions have different cultures. Many of my former managers probably would have thought a thank you note to be a bit odd.

Couldn't agree more! :) :)

I'm on the same boat as the original poster, and I completely agree regarding the thank you note. I'm getting ready to send mine now!
