  1. Does anyone have any experience working at St. Lukes on 114th and Amsterdam? [especially now that they are merged with Mount Sinai?] I am considering an offer in the emergency department and wanted some insight in advance if possible! Thank you!
  2. Hello Everyone, Has anyone ever been asked by their hiring employer for a copy of the NYS Child Abuse & Infection Control course? From my understanding, HR is requiring this as it is a NYS requirement but apparently something that is covered in nursing school. Yet, in nursing school we don't get a certificate for it. Its just part of NYS nursing education. Has anyone had any experience with obtaining this? The other solution is that I take the course over through a website HR provided. But this seems so silly to me as its part of our graduation requirement. I've asked several people who all say they have never been asked for this. Any information is appreciated.
  3. NYP by far.. congrats!
  4. Hi all, Does anyone have any feedback on NYP Lower Manhattan? I know that NYP acquired it over a year ago and was wondering if anyone has worked there since NYP took over and if there are any thoughts? Thanks!
  5. This is for the best. I'm exhausted from working in a hostile environment where I see excellent nurses with years of skill which I have so much respect, consume themselves with bitterness and dissatisfaction and pin it on others. It makes the job undesirable.
  6. That's definitely not true because it would be discrimination. Additionally, I don't remember them asking specifics in relation your health? If you were asking for a disability accommodation for more time on the exam, it would just be disclosure with documentation. That would be your choice but you get an ample amount of time. Workplaces do reserve the right to ask, and most do drug screenings. If you take medications such as stimulants, you'd have to disclose with documentation because your drug test would come up positive. But it is not something that would keep you from getting hired because that would be discriminating (ie. equal opportunity employer).
  7. Wrench, I know the recruiter was away last week and got back this week. I just got emailed to schedule an interview. So I think the wheels are turning. Therefore, you should hear something soon!
  8. @hofamb, I just PMed you!
  9. ahhhh! congrats hofamb!!! This was GEMS, correct?
  10. I have a feeling they are just behind on everything, understandably. My other two apps that had been sitting under recruitment review status for a few weeks finally just changed to "forwarded to hiring manager" as of this week. So, hang in there everyone! I haven't had a phone call for interview though :/ But theres still hope! And tons of luck to all those who have already interviewed!!
  11. I had applied to a few positions..
  12. @hofamb, good luck today!!!!! @Wrench party, good luck and hope you hear back!!! What program/position did you apply to?
  13. I bet you are right about them falling behind. Did you end up having the interview you were prepping for? Or is that the phone interview you're referring to?
  14. I did. My apps say "An initial pool is under consideration. You may be given consideration at a later date", and 2 others are under pre-screening. As for GEMS, they said they planned conducting interviews during the month of March. Since this is the last week of March, I wonder if this is the last chance to hear anything back. I had 2 apps get forwarded to hiring managers a week ago. So, not sure if I'll get a call since I haven't heard anything back yet. But hang on everyone!
