Passed CA NCLEX 2008, just got SSN this 2012, applied for CA-RN license

Hi to all! I passed the nclex last 2008. I just got my SSN last month as an employer based immigrant. Just a week ago, I submitted my Completed Application for Licensure by Examination including a U.S. social security number as instructed by the CA BON. My school also forwarded the needed documents.

My questions are:

Has someone gone through the same thing as I am?

What happened?

Did they release your license or not?

If yes: How long did you wait for your license?

If not: What did they say? Can you send me a copy? Did they make you do further studies?

--As i have said, I am on employment based petition, so with this, my employer is waiting for my license. With this, my life is on hold. I hope to be enlightened with this. Thank you so much.

finally,i got my rn license card two weeks after they requested a copy of my ssn card. i did checked my license # through online @ ca brn (permanent lincense verification) a week before i received my licensed card. so you better check it. now you're using old file #, i'm 100% sure you'll get it and let me knw. God bless you!

thank you so much ms. azir.

Sure sure.. Congratulations!

Hello azirr05,

This thread is very helpful I agree. Tried to pm you but couldn't. Same situation here, I just got my US SSN and I actually inquired with them a few months ago already about the requirements. They just said the pass letter, SSN card and fees. No mention of the fingerprint card or transcript. I've been reading others here that they just submitted the copy of the card and pass letter and got theirs. While others had to submit the school docs and more requirements. Pls. help.

Can you pm me on my account? Thanks!

yipeeeeee, i finally got my license.... to those of the same situation, submit your application letter together with the copy of your ss card, pass letter, diploma and license (from your country). do your live fingerprint, and have your school send in the transcript. so far those were required of me and i got my license =)

Hi! I'm so glad i came across these posts coz i've been worrying about my application for months. I'm an international grad and i have a similar situation. I passed the NCLEX RN for CA in 2007 but was unable to get a license (no SSN) so I endorsed it to NY in 2010 and they issued me a license in 2011. Now i'm here in Cali with an SSN and all, I tried applying for licensure by endorsement and the licensing analyst told me to change my application to licensure by examination, so I did. I submitted the same requirements and I think they already received the transcript from my school more than 2 weeks ago. So now, I'm waiting and of course I got worried again and thus came across these posts from you guys, which gave me hope. So thank you!

hi misshanibee. we are on the same situation, but I have not applied yet, I have my license in florida, I want to endorse it here in CAlifornia but i'm worried about the concurrency issue. What are the requirements you have submitted to the board? Thank you for your reply.

Does anyone have the same situation like ours? thanks

CA do their own assessment so you will need to submit everything as per their website (links at bottom of the page)

Actually, your situation and misshanibee are different and not similar. Misshanibee has already passed the NCLEX in CA, she just didn't have a valid SSN at the time, but upon submission of her SSN via the examination process, the CA BON should grant the license to her.

Your situation is that you passed the NCLEX in FL and trying to endorse into CA, which the CA BON will always need to review all of the college transcripts. This is where the majority of denials comes from. In Misshanibee's case, she has been deemed to have satisfied the CA BON rules back in 2007.

Hi Irah0526..we do have a different situation and i think steppybay already covered every aspect of it. (They did grant me my license yeyy! Thanks steppybay!) But in case u were still wondering about d additional reqts i sent apart from the ones indicated on d boards website, i also sent a copy of d letter they sent me when i passed back in 2007, it had my old file number, which probably helped them check if i really did pass but thats just my guess. :)

thanks steppybay and misshanibee. I just want to ask mishanibee, what are the requirements you have sent to bon, did you send also clinical cases, major and minor, etc? again, thank you and congrats. you are so lucky!
