Hi to all! I passed the nclex last 2008. I just got my SSN last month as an employer based immigrant. Just a week ago, I submitted my Completed Application for Licensure by Examination including a U.S. social security number as instructed by the CA BON. My school also forwarded the needed documents.
My questions are:
Has someone gone through the same thing as I am?
What happened?
Did they release your license or not?
If yes: How long did you wait for your license?
If not: What did they say? Can you send me a copy? Did they make you do further studies?
--As i have said, I am on employment based petition, so with this, my employer is waiting for my license. With this, my life is on hold. I hope to be enlightened with this. Thank you so much.
Can you tell us how you are almost to the point of getting a US SSN? For most they can not get one unless they have legal authorisation to live and work in the US if not already a US citizen
Hi Silverdragon102, I'm not getting my SSN through employment, I'm getting it through my wife which is in process right now. :)
Hello! Why up to this point I haven't heard anything from the CaBRN its been 6weeks now. Is this normal that I'll wait this long? Anyways I'm nclex passer 2007 submitted all the documents including copy of my SSN and Pass letter. Oh no, Oh why[/quote']
Hi! Don't worry i got a response from them after 6 weeks..you can always call them and you'd be able to talk to your evaluator directly. If they need you to send something else (which i doubt) they would tell you and it would be written on the letter they sent you. Godbless! :)
@Misshanibee: Thank you for the reply, anyways how will I know my evaluator if ever their is? Actually since i submitted my documents to the Board I was expecting a letter from them for any completion but I guess they don't need anything from me anymore that's why I haven't heard from them. I just hope everything is ok. Did they asked you anything to be completed before? Thanks again.:)

I guess they check it on their computer. But anyway if you gave everything including a copy of your ssn and your letter of passing nclex for CA then you'd be waiting for a license card. Better check your name online, they have a service on their website where you can check if they issued you licensure. :)

Oh I see! I'll be checking out their website then. If you don't mind Misshanibee, you have your license card and already working in a hospital? How's the RN market their? I assume you're from Ca?

Yes i just moved here several months ago. I do have my license card but unfortunately i'm not working in a hospital. I'm working in a subacute/rehab facility. There's always job openings in hospitals but your chances of getting hired are pretty slim if you don't have experience and if your an external applicant. They usually hire travel nurses that have been previously working for them. But you never know you might get lucky.

Yup that's what I've heard, but at least for you, you're working in a facility that you can use as a reference for employment if you wanted to apply in a hospital. I'm from NY and the same thing here RN with experience are having the advantage in getting a position in hospital. Best of luck and God bless. Thank you for helping me out not to worry too much.
