Passed CA NCLEX 2008, just got SSN this 2012, applied for CA-RN license

Hi to all! I passed the nclex last 2008. I just got my SSN last month as an employer based immigrant. Just a week ago, I submitted my Completed Application for Licensure by Examination including a U.S. social security number as instructed by the CA BON. My school also forwarded the needed documents.

My questions are:

Has someone gone through the same thing as I am?

What happened?

Did they release your license or not?

If yes: How long did you wait for your license?

If not: What did they say? Can you send me a copy? Did they make you do further studies?

--As i have said, I am on employment based petition, so with this, my employer is waiting for my license. With this, my life is on hold. I hope to be enlightened with this. Thank you so much.

Hello! Why up to this point I haven't heard anything from the CaBRN its been 6weeks now. Is this normal that I'll wait this long? Anyways I'm nclex passer 2007, submitted all the documents including copy of my SSN and Pass letter. Oh no, Oh why :(

Hi there, did you get your license already? I noticed you have no posts anymore. If so, how long did it take you to get it? Thanks and Godbless!

Oh hi Evanchoy, I've been in a vacation that's why I didn't post anything yet. I don't have yet my license, unfortunately my Fingerprint was rejected by the FBI and for the record the board review of my application along with the FBI Fingerprint review it takes me a month and a half. Just this Tuesday I was able to resubmit a card and I'll be waiting again for the board's reply on my application that is probably takes 1 to 1 1/2 month again.Oh boy, waiting sucks but got no choice.

Oh wow sorry to hear that jpc_01. Did you do your fingerprint with a card or livescan? I guess the only good thing about it is they are not asking the additional documents (OR/DR) from you. Best of luck to you and please update us once you get your license. Thank you!

Thanks God they never asked me anything aside from my fingerprint, I did the old school kind of fingerprinting since I'm from NY I can't do the Livescan. Yeah I'll update you whatever the result of my application.

Hi jpc_01! Its been almost two months since your last post here. Did you get your license already? If so, how long did it take all in all? Thank you!

Hi! Sorry for the late reply again. Anyways, I got my license and certificate from Cali BRN 1st week of October and I guess it took 4weeks from the time i redo my rejected fingerprint. I just follow everything that I read from this forum and fortunately I have my license now. So I guess to those who already passed the Cali NCLEX no matter how long you'll get the SSN or maybe you caught up from their 3years grace period, don't worry too much, they eventually issue your license but you have to provide everything they are asking for.

Thanks for the reply jpc_01! I think I'm the only person here in this forum who have yet to get my license. I submitted my application last week of september and the documents coming from my school followed a week after that. Until now there is no update (call, letter) from them even the check I issued has not been cashed out yet. My hopes are really high because I have not read any post from this forum that has been denied. Anyways good luck with the job hunting everyone and God bless us all!

You are very much welcome Evanchoy. Continue monitoring the date when they already cash out your payment because that is a sign that they already open and started to review your application, from then on if ever there is a missing or any deficient documents they will write you a letter through mail not by email expect their reply in 6-7weeks, it will really take long for the FBI to clear your fingerprint. Godbless to you.

What i did was I submitted the application, copy of SSN card, copy of my pass letter, copy of my PRC card and my fingerprint card and the payment all at the same time,as for my school credentials I ask someone to do it for me instead of my school sending the docs but of course with the address of my school in the mailing envelop. And then what happened was only my fingerprint card has been rejected so I need to redo it, they never ask me about any deficiency on my clinical rotations or what so ever. Just be patient, its all worth it once you have your License card and a Certificate of passing Cali BRN. So good luck to you.

this message is supposed to be for the other person not jpc_01

Hello there, did you read this thread before sending your application? All of the people here were approved because they sent their passing letter (expired) together with the fresh application and some other documents like ss number and diploma etc. It seems that its just you and me at this time that has yet gotten our license. How long did it take for them to take the money out of your bank account? Its already been almost a month since I submitted my application and they have not yet taken the money. Also, the CA BON has just updated to a new system (BreEze) which was implemented just the first week of October. You can check their website (CA BON) and find on the top part saying all applications are delayed because of the transition. There is also one person here in the thread with the same situation you had and solved it by calling the CA BON telling them he/she already passed the exam before and they dropped the additional requirements they were asking of him/her. Best of luck to the both of us my friend. Please update me on your case as I will do with mine.
