PVT IS DEAD! Don't try the "new" trick

The PVT was never meant to happen. It was not some trick invented to give us results before the 48 hour quick results were ready, it was a computer glitch that allowed us the peace of mind of finding out early if we most likely passed. Therefore it is no surprise that PV found a way to fix it. Those of us who are already licensed got lucky. New testers are not likely to have that sort of luck.

There is a new trick circulating that basically says you can still get the good popup if you try to pay. There is a problem with this, if you put in your credit card information and it allows you to pay, there is NO REFUND if you actually passed. The PVT was never 100% accurate, and false fails were more prominent than false passes. So if you put in your CC and it takes it, there is around a 5% chance that you passed and you just paid 200$ for an inaccurate trick.

Those in states that allow quick results will have to wait 48 hours. It is 48 terrible mind numbing frightening hours, but it's worth it not to pay for a new registration. Those in states not participating in quick results, you should call your BON after 48 hours and try to re-register on the phone. They should stop you if you passed.

The trick was a sanity saver for thousands, and it is sad to see it go, but it was inevitable that it was going to eventually get fixed.

UPDATE

As of October 2016, many people are still reporting that the PVT TRICK still works.

So since you paid for her new registration your friend owes you $200 plus overdraft fees.

She doesn't owe overdraft fees, she didn't force the writer to do this or cause the overdraft. The writer acknowledges that it was d/t their own arrogance, and they moved the funds from their account just in case. That was the writer's own doing...the friend should only have to pay the $200. The OD charge should be lesson learned.

yes, that's exactly it.

RNsRWE and Justbeachynurse,

first of all thank you for all of your posts i have been reading many discussions and found your comments and so many of them about the pvt. I read before my exam and a lot more after as i am just going crazy waiting (california test taker). i never wanted to do the pvt because i knew it wasn't reliable and it would just drive me nuts, but eventually i gave in because my application on breeze went from pending to completely disappeared the day after my test. I would say it took 32 hours for my app to disappear when i then did the pvt and got a card declined and just drove me to beat myself up. I'm not going to ask you guys for the millionth time about the trick cause its a stupid trick that doesn't always work BUT i am going to ask if you guys know anything about breeze apps disappearing?

thank you for your time

I took my test the other day and got a pop up saying result on hold and new registration cannot process. After 24 hrs I tried again and got charges of $200, what is that?

Hold meant your test was referred for a QA/QC audit and not an indication of pass or fail.

When you tried again and offered $200 and it was accepted you paid for a 2nd/new registration. After 24 hrs, often this means you failed and are now your registration is paid for the next attempt. This is not a guarantee nor is this official. You will not have accurate results unless your state participates in quick results or your BoN posts/mails your status.

So you now have another registration paid to take the NCLEX. You may have failed but won't know for certain until you receive official results.

I failed on my first attempt last February. Did the same procedure and led me to cc page and charged right away. So assumed that I failed, waited for my result and yeah I failed. But this one as I took my test last dec 2nd got home and did the trick. I got the pop up saying "the candidate has test result that are on hold and new registration cannot be created at this time" so as I was reading other people's experienced they said if u get that pop up it means you passed. But I tried again 12mn the next day and no more pop up and charged me $200 for the receipt. Now I'm freaking out if passed or failed.

Read my response above. Hold = test audit

How do i check license number on BON? i took exam yesterday.

thanks

I took the test on de 13,I tried the pvt the same day until the 15 ,I always got the good pop up,I pass.

Just did it, still works!

If it take you to the payment page does that mean you failed??? I entered all info but didn't put in a credit card because I don't have that kind of money right now. I didn't get pop ups.

You have to put in the credit card number info and submit the payment. If you passed then the system will not charge you the amount, instead, it will give you a warning message that either states that your file is on hold, you have an open registration, or that you recently scheduled the same test. The last message is the good one and the other two just mean that your test is still being processed.

I figured that if I failed, I would have to re-register anyway so, it wasn't a big deal to try to process my payment again.
