Hi Everyone! I am just new here and i immediately signed up when i read your comments. I am on the same boat as all of you, i took NCLEX seven times already but sad to say, luck is not on my side. I've wasted lots of money and opportunity. I really really want to become a US-RN like my friends and batchmates. I graduated 2005 but until now i haven't passed the NCLEX exam yet. I sometimes think that i am the most dull person on earth. My family has always been supportive of me, encouraging me to take and never give up...

Right now, i really want to make it this time. 8 chances has been wasted already. Could anyone please help me and give some advice coz i desperately need it!

Everybody i know has passed this exam already..

Please... HELP!

Hi and welcome to the site

I would say the key is get a good review book and practice questions aim between 100-200 a day and read the rationales even if you got it right. Do not schedule the exam until you feel confident you are ready to sit it

thank you for that... i even followed suzanne4's plan before when i took my 4th exam. i really don't know what to do anymore, i am so dumb! i envy my friends who passed it in just one sitting to think i was an above average student during my college years..

can anyone suggest what book/reviewer i can spend more time right now? i've used saunders, kaplan, exam cram before....:cry::cry:

you are not dumb...believe in yourself

Don't beat yourself up because we don't all get there the same time, some are better test takers than others. Are you studying with a buddy? Maybe that will help to reinforce when you are studying. You graduated and will get through the test. Everyone have different ways of studying, maybe you also have test anxiety. Take a break and start over with a good review book - most on this site use Saunders along with the accompanying CD. Remember to read rational even if you get it right and make sure you understand it.

Is it true that after failing 3x you have to do something lke a refresher course?

Don't lose hope! You finished your nursing school and if you did that then you can conquer NCLEX as well.

Regroup and arm yourself with knowledge you need to pass, be confident the next time you sit and use the test taking strategies to eliminate the other options. Good luck in your preparation.

Whatever you do, don't give up. Get a different study resource than you used before. Go through it first. Continue to do as many questions as possible. But make sure you study as if you had never tested before. Don't give in to the temptation to skip over material because your brain is telling you that you already know it. Good luck.

i failed 3 times and going to try for 4th time sometime later this summer. i know you can do this!! so please don't give up!!! my friend suggested to read "[color=#003399]strategies for the registered nursing licensing exam " by kaplan. it will help you to think nclex way and it comes with cd with questions and analyze which area you are good at or not. also try to use lacharity book. it will help you with delegation, prioritization and assignement. saunders q&a book is really good too. that's what i am using to study. good luck! and we can get through this and be rn!!!!!!!!

Im sorry to hear that. I remembered my classmate from the review center I went to a year ago, she is same boat as you are. She told me that she don't know what to do if she fails the 8th time. She has spent almost $4000 and doesnt have a job since she stopped working to just focus on studying. She took her NCLEX the 8th time. Later on I found out that she passed. I then called her up to congratulate her and she told me "The $4000 I spent for for my NCLEX review is now my overtime pay". That story made me realize that there is really hope. Just keep believing and of course dont give up studying. We will have our time. Just be patient and think positively! GOODLUCK TO ALL OF US!

If some of the instructors from your school are still there, I would also ask them to help guide you to your weak areas. I remember all my students, and keep detailed records. Perhaps they have done the same? Also agree with seeking out a review course.

I am also in your situation. I already taken my 7th test last nov of 08. It's actually my fault coz I didn't study on those exams. I just took it bec it's going to expire.. but this time I'm trying to study really good and planning to enroll at kaplan..It's not the end of the world..

The very first thing you need to do is change your Screenname. You identify yourself as a failure and that already is very telling in how you see yourself. You "must" believe in yourself or you are defeated before you ever be seated in that chair. I agree with doing alot of questions; because you need to build your confidence up. Further, maybe that morning when you go to the Nclex, make yourself look pretty, get the day before your nails done and dont study the day prior. However, it begins with you, if you approach this exam and your study time thinking that you are failing or are a failure you wont ever jump over that obsticle. You have to be able to brush off when you make a low score on one of those questions and tell yourself okay did not know that..now I know more because I looked it up. Good luck to you!
