I am exactly in the same situation like yours. I failed Nclex-RN 3 times and stay home mom of 3 kids. I graduated in December 2008. It's been 9 months since I graduated and all my friends are RN now. I just had my 3rd baby in June. With brand new baby, 2 years old, and 8 years old, I am having a hard time finding time to study. On top of that, my husband is going to overseas for 2 years in October. I don't know when I am able to take Ncelx again.... I want to be RN!!! But I try to study everyday even its 30 minutes or 10 minutes. Whenever I have a chance, I do questions and make notes. I know you can do it!! And I know I can do it too. We need to support each other and that's this web site is for!!! :)

i failed 3 times and going to try for 4th time sometime later this summer. i know you can do this!! so please don't give up!!! my friend suggested to read "[color=#003399]strategies for the registered nursing licensing exam " by kaplan. it will help you to think nclex way and it comes with cd with questions and analyze which area you are good at or not. also try to use lacharity book. it will help you with delegation, prioritization and assignement. saunders q&a book is really good too. that's what i am using to study. good luck! and we can get through this and be rn!!!!!!!!

Just relax and wait for your results. What I understand is that they will look at your last 60 questions if you run out of time. Unfortunately in my case, when I took my NCLEX-RN for second time it run out of time and I didn't pass. you can still pass even when you run out of time so just relax and wait! (I know its hard to do that....)

My friend suggested to know category of meds. For example the meds that end with -pril is hypertensive. There's no way you can remember all the meds out there so just know your category and what they are for and you can go from there. And also do questions saunders q&a cd ahs lots of questions on meds.

Congratulations!! I am going to go for my 4th time in August and right now I really don't know what to do. I used the Hurst review but didn't help much. I am just using Saunders Q&A book everyday. I'm trying to do 100 questions a day. Your story really encouraged me. Made me feel like I can get thorugh this. Thank you!! and Congratulations RN!!!!

I tested on Saturday afternoon. When you get your ATT and schedule, you will be able to see which date and time are available to test on the website.

I thought the board will have to evalulate your application before they issue you ATT. So I don't understand why they let you take NCLEX and now telling you they have to evaluate your criminal record. I guess maybe its procedure is different from state to state. One of my classmates had DUI and he had to write and explain details of what happened and get it notarized and send it with his application. My friend had misdeminor and she also had to do the same thing. It took about a month and half for the board to clear their application. They both passed their NCLEX and RN now.

You are not alone. I failed for 3rd time last week and planning to retake it for 4th time in August. I am going to give myself a little more time this next time. My friend who took it for 3rd time just found out that she passed, so that's good for her but I was feeling really down after hearing that she passed. I know I am excited and happy for her but now I am not really sure if I can pass this test. I am not going to give up though, I am going to give myself more time to study and re-group. My nursing school required all of us students to take the Hurst review and we all took it during the final week. Some people found it to be very helpful but I didn't. I really didn't find it helpful. But we have 52 students in our class and 49 of them passed the first try. I and my friend unfortunately didn't pass the first try and we are still working hard towards passing NCLEX. I talked to some of them who passed and they said they just did questions and reviewed materials on CD. They didn't use any other review but the hurst. So I guess overall the hurst review works, but not for everybody.

Well I got my letter today and not good news. I failed AGAIN. This is very very depressing. I am going to try Kaplan Review next time, but not sure if I want to take it again. Everyone told me not to give up but I don't know if I have strength to take it again. I don't want to give up. Well, I had 7 SATAs, 5 calculations, lots of drugs, and 2 select in right order ones. I pray for all of you who are still trying after couple of tries. I will not give up and I am going to pass this thing!!!!

I just took mine for the third time on Saturday and had all 265 questions and took 6 hours to complete. Quick result is available online but too scared to check. So I am just waiting to receive letter. I am not in hurry to find out and didn't want to spend another $8 to check my result :wink2: I am just hoping that I passed this time. Last time I took the exam, I got the letter in 4 days. That was pretty quick. So, I dont think it will take that long to find out this time.

I don't think it matters how well you do on HESI. My friend who passed HESI with 986 but failed NCLEX twice and still trying to pass for the third time. My other classmate who made 600 on HESI passed NCLEX the first time. HESI and NCLEX are two totally different exams. CECE gave you really good advice. It's really important to know diseases and symptoms.

I just found out that I failed for the 2nd time:bluecry1: I am very very discouraged but I am going to try again for the 3rd time in Mary or June. I used Hurst review for the first time and really didnt find it helpful but some of my friends liked it. I used the Kaplan strategy book and prioritization, delegation, and assginment by La charity for my secound time around and I really liked it and I thought I was going to pass this time but no... I didn't. I am going to use Sanders this time since I am seeing lots of good reviews on Sanders. Anyway, good luck to all of us and I know we all can make it!
