new Army Nurse going Landstuhl, Germany
Alright, in less than a week I will be at OBLC!! So excited! So tired already thinking about all that training and having to give up my afternoon naps. I am praying I get a good roomate. Is anyone else from here going to be there before the 14th of October? I am scheduled to arrive on the 12th at nine pm.

Everybody feels the way you do after Nursing school. Nobody is in the mood anymore to study once school is done. However, why gamble and take the chance to be lazy and not study and then fail to end up studying more and waiting even longer. If you have not completed Kaplan yet and you do not know where you stand I also would tell you to do the course. It will help you immensely. We had to take a Hesi Exit Exam which was absolute horror and I wished our school would have done Kaplan instead, but I ended up paying it for myself and took it after Nursing school and passed with 75 questions. Dont take a chance and later on you wished you had taken a few weeks out to study. Just take two hours a day or three and that is not really that much. Questions will take you about an hour and review will as well. That is how I did it and I did not feel overwhelmed with studying.

Sorry that I have not been around. Been very busy and now sick as hell. I hate it, my head hurts and on top of everything I am teaching about swineflu, while I stand before them and sneeze non stop lol. I have a busy day tomorrow again and doing the countdown for my leaving for my training. I did get badly drunk last weekend lol. Greedy, so glad its over for you and of course I want to know if you passed, though I am confident that you did! I cant wait to hear your results and I wish you would do the trick already lol. Good luck to those who are testing this week and my lord...September is now over!!!! OMG we did so great this September!!! I just realized that we got all of them through with greedy's results still pending, but now I know she passed, because all eyes are on her to make our September group proud ( gives her more anxiety lol)

Exit HESI exam quirks. Material on test but not in HESI review book. (No specifics)
This test is not a requirement from the State, rather it is a test that is implimented by the school and depending on the school and how high the bar they want to set the test they decide, because it is in the end their pass-rate and prediction in how many may pass or not pass the Nclex. In my opinion the Hesi should be taken out all together, because after testing for the Nclex, I can not even see why we do not use Kaplan, which is so close to Nclex, unlike the Hesi, which does not even come close to the Nclex.

Welcome To The NCLEX September Support Group
I think the last two on six and seven 60% for Kaplan. On the readyness test 65% Mh24: I will cross my fingers for you so much tomorrow that they will turn purple!!! So you better do well, if I am willing to take out the circulation in my fingers lol. I am so proud of you that you stopped yourself from doing questions, because your brain needs to feel fresh. I hope you did something nice tonight for yourself and something very relaxing. My thoughts will be with you!!! I wont find out until Saturday, since I go with my friend to her Nclex.

First of all.....Congrats to the two blessed Nurses!!!!!:redbeathe:jester::bowingpur:yelclap::hrnsmlys::balloons::clpty: Furthermore, MH24...you are doing great and you got alot of support here. You just claim that day as yours and you will zip right through it!! Sorry guys I am not around much, but I am trying to keep up. Wow we really rock on this September and there are so many special people here on this forum. I wish I could see MH24 message on Friday, but I will be out of town with my friend for her Nclex on Saturday. I just can feel it that MH24 will pass as well. Just make sure to relax the day prior. NO MORE STUDYING. Just review some labs and close that book. You will get this!!!

Im not doing well on Kaplan test prep and Im terrified
You sound very frustrated and I think that if you were to push your date back it might be not a bad idea. Not because your scores are low on Kaplan, rather because you come across completely insecure and I think that this plays more a factor on Nclex then anything else. You have got to feel ready for this test to a certain extend. I took Kaplan and I found it very very very useful. I was not frustrated if I saw a low score rather I read through all the answers and tried to understand what they were trying to teach me...as to why my answer was wrong. I did not so much apply the decision tree, however, I learned to think safe and to figure out what kind of question they were asking. For example: Is this safety , teaching, patho...etc question and then I choose my answers based on this and I flew through nclex like a charm and found it actually not difficult at all. I was an average student and english is my second language but Kaplan prepared me well for Nclex If you are not happy with Kaplan, substitute it with another source and see how your scores compare there to what most others make. For example I made on Kaplan on my qbanks 60%. On my last three tests ...forgot what they called them, those looong tests were you were supposed to make 60% on I made between 68-72%. I found that this is what I made on Saunders as well about 68-72% by not choosing the areas that I am already great at, rather doing areas I am very weak in. You can do this, but first you have to study without frustration or you are blocking yourself from taking in important information. Hope this helped. You need to get yourself into a different frame of mind and approach this with a "can do" attitude.

Welcome To The NCLEX September Support Group
This September Group has been doing so well and I am really proud of everyone for being so motivated to help others, while they themselves at times likely doubted that they could do it. I cant believe we had such success already and I just know that those who will be testing this week will do great. Blessed Nurse to feel ready is great and I bet you will love it when it is behind you and Gwenny I read that prayer and it is wonderful. I wish you all the best of luck!!!

Delayed But Not Deined!! U Must Read My Story!!
Very well written, because I can tell between the lines how excited you were to post this story so others may take comfort from it and get motivated for possibly the second or third attempt. I agree, do not let anyone discourage you from your dreams. If you set out something to do and you are committed you will get there, just sometimes a bit sooner other times maybe a slight delay, but the end is the same you arrived at your destination. So happy to got to know you and go through with our cool September group with this!
