Introduction Thread---LPN/LVN students!!

Awesome that this board was started!

I just finished up my first quarter in a four quarter LPN program at Hondros College in Cincinnati. We have one week off, and then back to the grind.

I'm currently a scrub tech in OB, and plan to work at my hospital when I graduate. Eventually, I plan on pursuing my ADN, but I'll cross that bridge when my three year old daughter starts school.

Can't wait to "meet" everyone.:wink2:

Hi everyone! I'm so glad we have this new forum!

I start my 12 month LPN program in a few weeks. I'm really excited. I'm married and have 2 children - my daughter will be 3 at the end of April and my son is 19 months old.

I am due to graduate in 2 months and 13 days!

I am attending a 15 month full time program (M-F 6.5 hrs/day). No vacations or breaks to speak of.

I am married and the mom of a high school sophmore and a 1st grader. I also work full time (from home on the PC for my company :))

I plan on persuing my RN once I graduate LPN school. And my ultimate goal is NICU!

Want to wish all the newbie students the best of luck. Its a long tough road to travel but the final destination is so worth the trip :nuke:

I started my LPN program on March 12. It is a 12 month program so I am just getting started. I have three boys (ages 6, 4, and 1) and a supportive husband. I am so excited for the opportunity to finally go back to school and be the nurse I've always wanted to be. My ultimate goal is Pediatrics and I would like to work towards a NP.

Hi to all the wannabenurses on the forum!! Well, I am half way thru my LPN program. I'm still in high school. I will graduate the LPN program in December. And soo far my I say that I'm lovin' it!!! Right now, we are going into peds. I can't wait to finish. And to those who are begginning their LPN/LVN progarm out there, I wish each and everyone one of you good luck. It is hard and stressful at times, but if you can make it thru the program, you can make it thru anything. Remember, we are in this together and may we become successful nurses at the end.

I am on "spring break" this week from my 15 month-long LPN program. I have 2 quarters to go and it's uphill all the way!

We've had one quarter of med-surg clinicals, but didn't get much experience d/t holidays and only one day of clinicals per week. Next quarter, we do pediatrics and maternity.

I am 40 years old, married for 18 1/2 years and have two children ages 12 and 15. This is my second career.

I look forward to getting to know all of you and helping to support each other thorugh our journeys!

Hi, I'm Erica. I start full time LPN classes on April 1. We go to school 40 hours a week. It's an 11 1/2 month program. I've heard it's very intense (as are all LPN courses) but I can't wait to start. I've wanted to be a nurse for a long time but LIFE seems to have gotten in the way but finally - NO EXCUSES - I'm going back to school. My school offers a continuous program where as soon as I graduate LPN school, take and pass the NCLEX-PN I could go right back to school to complete my ADN. I would like to do this, but I may have to stop and work for a while. I just remarried in December and I have 2 children that are 2 and 5.

I use this site all the time and really appreciate the help and advice, but most of all the support, from everybody!

I am 1/2 way through a 2 year part time LPN program. We are currently doing our Maternity/Peds rotation and I love doing Peds. I work full time during the day, have a husband who has been a tremendous help and 3 children ages 21, 17 and 10.

I go to school 3 nights a week and some weekends. I cannot wait to graduate and become an LPN. I have my RN pre-reqs completed and hopefully will be able to do Excelsior online to get the RN.

hello i am in lpn school in dc and i in currently in maternity. i am more than half way done. i have 4 more classes to go (pediatrics, gerontology, mental health, and nursing in society). i will be done school in may but after my class time is over i have 3 weeks of clinicals for my last 4 classes. i live in md and i am the mother of a 5yr old son and a 3 yr old daughter. my children mean the world to me and i am improving my life for them and me too. lpn school is not an easy task to overcome but so so very worth it and i would not change making this decision ever especially since i am almost done. i work in a hospital in md and i will probably transfer to lpn when i am done with school or i might go to a different hospital but i am not really sure. either way i will be a nurse and that is all that matters. good luck to everyone and me too.
