Introduction Thread---LPN/LVN students!!

Published

I thought we could introduce ourselves on this brand new forum!!

I am Lisa and currently just over 1/2 way through my 12 month LPN program. We are currently on our 2nd semester practicum. 6 weeks at LTC. I am very looking forward to semester 3, which is all acute care/med-surg/mat/peds and a 6 week practicum at the hospital!

At this point, I hope to get hired at the hospital when I'm done. My local hospital does hire LPN's on most wards. I may or may not go back and become an RN, but that decision is a long way away from being made.

I am married, have a 5 year old daughter, 7 year old son. We live in BC Canada. :) :nurse:

Of course you should pursue nursing, if that is what you want to do!! It doesn't matter how old you are, I am 47 and in my 1st semester of LPN school. I also put off nursing for several years to take care of my disabled sister, so I do know where you are coming from. I am so sorry about your mom but I am sure she would want you to do what would make you the happiest. Just go for it!!

Hello Everyone,

I start my LPN program May 19. I am so excited! I am 28, a wife and a mother of four. I plan to go straight into my ADN program after I finish my lpn.

Anyone from Oklahoma or Louisiana?

Oh wow this is a great forum! I just graduated LVN in January and wish I had this forum to post to. My program was 18 mos long with the summer off and two semesters of pre-reqs. I got a job that summer as a CNA which really helped me to put the book learning to some use and gain practical experience. I work as a tech now in the ER and am really happy with my present job.

I am studying for my NCLEX-PN now and will take it in May. :smilecoffeeIlovecof

hello! I just finished my LPN program that was supposed to be 16 months. I'm glad that my teacher slowed down for us because this program is a fast pace and if you can't hold on you will be bumped off

I cant imagine myself being in a fast pace program. Im currently in a part time program so it kinda helps me a lot on my studies. We only have theory 2 days a week and 1 day of clinicals per week, its a 2 year course but hell ive been in this school for more than two years due to the administration always changing stuff. Ill be graduating in Jan 08, hope theres no unexpected delays or wat not.:D
