Does anyone like their uniform? I find my uniform top to be one of the most uncomfortable and unflattering things ever made.

Seriously I look like a love seat in the thing.

Navy tops and bottoms, with school embroidery and nametag. I love wearing the color navy anyway, although depending on the color coding of the hospital I do clinicals, I may be mistakenly identified as a nurse or as a transporter. The only downside is that I can't wash them in bleach to disinfect them. I will try patch testing H2O2, or perhaps just break down and buy a steam cleaner, since I understand people in hospitals can pick up some nasty bugs on their clothing.

Maybe I'll end up in infection control, since this is the uniform issue with which I'm most concerned :).

ours were white dresses, with pin-tuck fronts (buttoned), and then the top sorta turned into a blouse attached to the skirt, which had a side zip. we thought we looked like real nurses (because the other nursing schools had dorky colored uniforms with huge white starched aprons, and one even had black unis and they wore black hose and shoes) and nobody would know the difference until we noticed 1) nobody else had a patch with the school emblem on their chests and on their nursing caps, and 2) nobody else wore anything that required ironing pin-tucks. everyone wore caps and white dresses, hose, and shoes. pantsuits were a few years in the future.

i transferred to my school as a sophomore for the last 3 years of college and did not know what the college nursing hat looked like. when i picked mine up at the uniform store the week before classes started, i also did not know that through some error the school patch had been applied to it upside down at the factory. so here i am trying to figure out how to put the fool thing together (it came flat in a cellophane package with no directions) so that the patch is right side up when worn. feh.

when i use to be a nursing student our uniform use to be a blinding white plus starched attire. the only good thing was that i could always tell when my instructor or the nm was coming down the hallway because you could hear the sounds of their uniforms and chalk stockings. in one occasion i got tired of our instructor telling us every day to wear white underclothes in order not to bring attention to ourselves, i decided to wear a pair of hot red underwear. needless to say, at the middle of my shift when i noticed my instructor flirting in a soft voice very much like marilyn monroe type with one of the doctors i made a point to bend over and she almost swallowed her tongue as she yell out "gitano!!! i need a word with you young man" on the other hand, i don't advise you following my indiscretion but i was young foolish, and a bit crazy. btw, i'm no longer foolish

Ours resembled white burlap sacks.

Sexy!

My school required hunter green Landua men's line scrubs for us guys. Love it. They actually fit vey well and made of good quality.

White scrubs with the school logo. The pants we were originally sent fit terribly, on everyone. So I ended up buying a couple pairs from elsewhere which are much more comfy. But I'm messy, so I always carry a tide stick with me. Although with the white pants, I did have an issue with Aunt Flo once already, luckily it wasn't noticeable.

We wear all white which I'm not thrilled about but we can choose any brand we want which is great.

Our uniforms are solid white. Not comfortable at all!

Maroon top, maroon pants. Sounds awesome, huh? LOL

I would have LOVED to have been able to wear scrubs of any color....

My face has been blurred to hide my ID just in case anyone is still alive :lol2:

This is '72-'71 student uniform

Nylons with a girdle and garter snaps - no pantyhose at that time, Oh and you had better been wearing grannie panties or else!

Horrible uncomfortable but required shoes

The sack like DRESS uniform fit no one, was impossible to keep from being rumpled even with starch and an iron...they changed the material after our class because there were so many complaints, mine was supposed to be longer but I was too tall and they just didn't have anything to fit me, but trying to bend over, get under beds, lift patients...anything and try to be "modest" was beyond difficult.

Sooo for those of you complaining about scrubs...think again, the good news is you get to go to school in pajamas the bad news is you get to go to school in pajamas and yah the don't have the best fits.

Oh my god... talk about wanting to burn a uniform. First of all, our uniform is ALL WHITE, which is a pain. The top has a ZIPPER FRONT and a COLLAR. Who in their right mind thinks anything about this looks good? The only positives I can find about it is that the pants are basic drawstring pants without anything goofy going on, and once we reach our senior year we get to change our top to a royal blue basic scrub top. Until then... /sigh

I have not personally worn my uniforms yet or even seen them in person. I will not be receiving my uniforms until probably the beginning of school. We wear navy blue scrub pants, white polo shirt embroidered, a navy blue vest with nursing logo, and all white shoes. It's not bad looking from what I have seen in the pictures, but the vest does look kind of ugly. So I'm not really looking to forward to wearing them.
