How old were you when you started nursing school?

The wonderful thing about nursing is that it is open to everyone of all ages. Please give a cheer to all the people who believe that age is not a factor in learning. And, to all the people who strive for knowledge regardless of age. How old were you when you started nursing school?

Started pre-reqs at 19. Got into a BSN program at 24. Had to leave for personal reasons. Finally going back to school, a different route this time, I will be starting at age 28. First LPN, then hopefully at age 30, I'll continue on with my LPN to RN.

Started pre-reqs at age 42, my ADN at age 45, started my first RN position at age 47. Age at completion of BSN? To be determined!

I'm 32 and I'm half way through the LVN program. I'm going till I get my BSN. Not sure how long it'll take but I know I'll get there eventually.

Started RN-Prereqs this year at 24 years old. Will graduate from ASN program at 26, and get my license. I am glad I am finally pursuing the career path that I always wanted no matter how long has it been since HS graduation.

I was seventeen. Graduated at 19 with LPN. That was 22 years ago. I have been going part time for years working on BSN.

26 when I started nursing school. Finished at 28. My class had 18 year olds, lots of 20somethings, and one man who was 65 when he started....nice man, couldn't take the stress and left after one year.

I graduated LPN school at age 20. If I get in the accelerated program in Jan, I will be starting it at age 46...never too old!
