Ours last year was a Walmart card for $50. Probably the same this year.

$15.00 gift card from Kroger's. Same as last eight years, atleast it's not taken out of my check!

Specializes in Med/Surg.

We get a frozen turkey...and a free meal ticket wether we work that day or not...but I really can not complain because they are good to us during the year...in the summer they buy out one of the local waterparks for the day and we have a big cook out and you can bring all your children and one adult free...ok guess I got off track....

I get to choose between a 5lb ham or a 10-12lb turkey. Woo hoo!

This year we will recieve $100 bonus if we're full time and we also received a $10 gift certificate at Thanksgiving. Of course...we are some of the lowest paid health care workers in the state :0

Nothing for thanksgiving. But after we attend a mandatory 1hour forum (where the big whigs all pat themselves on the back for the great job they've done this past year) we get a $15.00 certificate to a local grocery store.

Unfortunately, my spouse also works for same corporation/different hospital, they get $50.00 American Express gift cards.

I work midnites: for Thanksgiving & Christmas Eve, we get FREE sandwiches and pop (1 each please).

I guess our bosses don't really have to do anything for us, but I wish they were consistant from hospital to hospital, shift to shift

Another thing my hospital does that I think is rather nice. The night of the Christmas party, they make sure each and every night person who is working gets a meal (and it's good: prime rib and salmon with all the good sides) sent over and HOT even. The Supe comes around with a dessert cart to each floor, also, and we get to pick out a truffle or cake or something on that order. I think these little things are so meaningful and great. It almost makes it worth it to be scheduled these nights. Also holiday meals are served to both shifts on the Thanksgiving and Christmas Days/eves.

My christmas bonus just showed up in the mail: a coupon for a free 12 oz. coffee at our hospital cafe. Yippieh!!!

If it's the same thing this year, a $15 gift certificate to a grocery store.

Hi

For many years we had a Hospital-wide Dinner Dance. It was always held at a very fancy place. They also had a Holiday Buffet. For us nite workers, it was also VERY nice. The Executives came in and served us--it was the same food they had on days and evenings.

When we were sold, the Holiday Dance went. we still have the Holiday Buffet & the Big Boys still come in to serve us. The food is, again, the same as the other shifts.

Now, we also get a $50.00 gift card from the Let Us Entertain You restaurant Chain. They have several nice restaurants.

A few years ago, my Brother-In-Law was the Internal Auditor at my Hospital; while we were getting a dinner dance & Buffet, he was getting a bonus in the six-figure range. Nice!!

that ALWAYS made me so angry!!

Well, this year, in light of the "restructuring" they have done this week (terminated 10-15% of the employees), we get to keep our jobs for the holiday. In the past years we were given a $15 or $20 gift certificate to the hospital gift shop. The money was at least partially donated by med staff. I always thought it was interesting that we were given something that ultimately benefitted the hospital since the auxillary runs the gift shop and buys things for the hospital.

We may not get anything this year because of the cut backs.

We also don't get a party given by the hospital, but there is a committee of employee volunteers who raise funds throughout the year and organize an annual party. The party is this Saturday and I can't wait... (ok.. i'm on the committee and I'm ready to have a one month break from the stress of it all...lol... it'll be great fun though!)

We get $25.00 gift certificate to either Walmart, the local mall, or a local grocery store. Our choice. 3 years ago, the ER docs all gave us a $50.00 gift certificate to Walmart. That was the only time they have done that.
