pre employment math exam

Heellllllppp! I have a pre employment math exam next week, and was told it was "just conversions" and I can not use a calculator. I feel like I should brush up, any suggestions on where I can brush up? Or what I should look into? I have always been pretty good at math, but I like to be prepared.

I have never used any formula except ratio and proportion. Sometimes it may take several steps to get you where you need to be, but it always works and it's always simple.

go over metric system, and how to convert between systems like 5ml in 1 tsp, 30 ml = 1 oz, 1 kg = 2.2 lbs

That's what I think of when I heard conversions

micrograms, milligrams, grams. Mililiters, liters (and converting fluid volume to weight: 1L = 1 kg). Maybe brush up on dose calculations and IV calculations?

I had two pre employment exams and thank God I passed both of them ! I would advise you to know your conversions. I normally use dimentrisonal analysis. I.E. Order divided by whats on hand.

Don't forget to remember how to calculate drip rates. Its really hard without a calculator. Thankfully they let us use a calculator on both exams. One of the jobs even let us use a drug book.

I don't know what they don't let us use a calc. for these exams. In the real world I rely on a calculator...

Your lucky you only have to worry about conversions...I had to take a pre-employment exam called the CNET which had 60 random drug administration questions. Ugh!

There are literally millions of nursing math websites if you type this into Google, you will be able to sift thru them.

It's just a matter of converting and cancelling down till you get the right answer. Make sure you know all your formulas.

the only way to roll is dimensional analysis, impossible to mess that up
