If you could no longer work as a nurse, for whatever reason, what other job or career would you choose? This is assuming that you have only ever worked as a nurse and your degree is strickly nurse related.

Specializes in Correctional, QA, Geriatrics.

I was pre vet until financial issues reared their ugly head so that would be my first choice.

Second choice-police officer. I would make a heckuva great detective.

Third choice interior designer. I am always making over any spaces I spend time in, love walking through an empty house or space and imagining how I could transform it.

I would go back to school and become a meteorologist for a major news station! Either that or a dog walker or painter both are so therapeutic to me!

Teach/Lecture

Specializes in wound and critical care.

I would be a hairstylist or go back to playing my clarinet and joined sometype of band.

I would be a writer, or go back to school and major in English. Or both. :)

work in some sort of computer based job-programming, that sort of thing. If this is your fantasy job of choice, I would work at Disneyworld :up:

I'd have to win the lottery first, so I would worry about the finical gamble in this economy, but I'd love to start a scrapbooking store with workroom in my hometown. We don't have a dedicated one anymore. Just hobby lobby and michaels.

I'd go back to my previous job, activity director in a Mentally Ill nursing home.

Chicken and zucchini farmer since managing peeps and rounding up zucchini is almost as challenging as getting cranky old ladies to take pills.

I actually lived somewhere for three years where I couldn't work as a nurse, so I worked editing medical journal articles and books for writers who were non-native English speakers.

I think I like the bookshop idea better, though.

I always figured that if I flunked nursing school, I would become a tattoo artist, as I have prior art training....

Same here Tattoo artist and body piercer lol. By the way my tattoo artist makes more than I do as a nurse and he gets to sit down for his work lol!! Imagine jabbing people all day that actually enjoy it :yeah:

Actually I'd like to teach...have my summers and weekends off to play in my garden, be a gypsy, and create!
