How far would you drive for a job as a new grad?

Hi , I was wondering how far any of you would commute for a job as a new grad..?? I am trying to make a decision in this stinky economy.

been working for 3 months now i drive 24 miles one way to my job. 90% highway driving takes me around 35-40 minutes

If I worked nights, no more than 45 mins,

I I worked days, no more than 1 hr.

I currently drive 25 miles each way and it takes me 30 minutes. I work nights

After getting off in the mornings, I am not safe enough to drive for long periods of time. Definetly take that into consideration.

For me, I'd go with time it would take me to and from not the miles. I live in a very congested area with horrid traffic. I'd be willing to sacrifice 1hr each way tops (commute time). That is what I am currently doing.

Offtopic:

One thing that helps me when driving home from work is talking to people via cellphone (of course with my bluetooth headset on lol) it distracts me from the driving time and before i know it when the conversation ends i'm already home.

I "commute" about 20 minutes to work, but that's walking! I'd have to really want the job to drive an hour each way. I work 12 hour shifts which are often closer to 13 so two more hours spent in commute leaves me with virtually no time for anything but work and sleep. Add in some bad weather, traffic or a rough shift that has me leaving late and I might struggle to cram even 6 hours of sleep in.

I would absolutely not commute more then two hours one way. I currently commute one hour one way.

I currently communte to work approx. one hour away from my home and for the right job I'd be willing to drive 1 1/2 hours each way if necessary.

30 minutes tops in city traffic without leaving the county.

The LTC I just started working at is 6.5 miles away, takes me just under 15 minutes on a Sat or Sun morning to get there. Perfect.

I always used to say, 30 minutes............but now that I will hopefully have my RN within a year and good RN jobs in the close vicinity seem to be hard to come by........for the right job I would be willing to travel up to 1-1 1/2 hours. It would all depend on the job and the shifts. I would only do this for 12 hour shift position. For an 8 hour shift, no more than 45 minutes.

Monday I started my new job at a local clinic, and two days later I got a call from a hospital I applied to for some PRN positions 397 miles from my house. They were willing to hire me even though they knew I'd be a commuter. I definitely would have taken it. The experience would have been worth ANY drive.
