The wonderful thing about nursing is that it is open to everyone of all ages. Please give a cheer to all the people who believe that age is not a factor in learning. And, to all the people who strive for knowledge regardless of age. How old were you when you started nursing school?

41years young here! Starting nursing prerequisites in the fall! Two babies 20 and 14 lol! Probably end up in college with the both of them. Advise or encouragement would be greatly appreciated! Very nervous! Have been an LPN for 10 years have not been back to school since. Hoping to go all the way to my BSN. Looking at Florida SSC or VCC concurrent programs. I have a long haul ahead of me but with the grace and mercy of God, here I goooooo!

I will be 25 when I start classes.

Starting Pre-reqs at 24, Starting nursing school at 25 (Really 24 but my birthday is a month after I'll start so I'll say 25 ) & Earning my BSN by 27

Specializes in ICU.

I will be 27 when I start and 29 when I finish.

Specializes in geriatrics, psych.

I was 19 when I started LPN school and that was only 22 years ago. Lol! I started pre-req's for ASN a couple years ago and I'm starting the ASN program this fall (at the young age of 41). I hope when I'm 43 years young I can start on my BSN. ?

I got my CNA at 18, worked off and on in between school and having kids and hubby's schooling. Now I am almost 36 and getting ready to graduate with my BSN in December! It's very surreal, but now graduate school is way more feasible. I used to think it was just a far off dream to even get my RN...who knew! Dreams can come true.

I was 44yrs old when I started, at 46 I got my Associate in Science Nursing, then at 48 I got my BSN.

Im currently enrolled in the Masters in Public Health Degree from a School of Medicine. I have 3 more semesters to go.

It's amazing, but I always knew that after raising two kids I would accomplish all this and more.

At nursing school when they said that after 50 you loose cognition I used to say "please God help me get where I want to be, and allow me to work and help others, to give the best of me" And He listened. THANK GOD.

I was a junior in high school 16 yrs old, 33 yrs old still in field and currently working towards my RN, this is the most rewarding profession. But, time for a change uo

I'm 20 and I begin my ADN one week before I turn 21 this fall ?

I started LPN school at 23 finished at 25 ( went part time two year program). I was a single mom of three with three children under the age of six. I just turned 27 and im starting to take my pre reqs for RN. I should have my RN assoicates at age 30 or 31. I started out as MA for six years.

I am currently enrolled in the nursing program at my local college, and just turned 41 in February. I have a 17 year old son, and have had a bachelors degree in elementary education since 2006 that never really panned out the way I had hoped. Things happen, and roads fork, and this is the path I am currently venturing down. Best of luck to all of you in your endeavors, and please pray for me, as well because I know this will not be a leisurely stroll. ?
