Hi y'all.

I start the first semester of an RN program this semester. I'm a guy, and I just turned 19 in June. What age is the youngest person in your cohort?

I have no idea for sure yet, but I think it's me, I'm 19. & I already have an AA degree to boot.

We had a few last semester that we're excited for their upcoming 18th birthdays.... Boy did that make me feel old haha!

19, oldest around 50

Me too. Well, an Associates of Science. In the RN program we receive our Associates of Applied Science.

19 in my class. They were younger than my oldest daughter :)

The oldest was a little older than me, I want to say he was late 40's.

the class average age was early 30's

I'm 18, I'm pretty sure I am the youngest in our cohort. I too already have an associates! I got accepted right after I turned 18, they almost wouldn't let me apply because I was to young!

Just curious, how did the rest of y'all teenagers get accepted so young? I started doing college classes as a junior in HS, but I forewent applying to the program for a year so I could work on the requirements for my BSN. My college has a partnership with a local university so I knew what classes I would need.

I started taking college classes at 14, my freshman year of high school. I then graduated a year early from High School so after to semesters I was ready for the nursing program.

That's great. I had some obstacles. First, I couldn't start doing concurrent enrollment where my classes would be paid for until I was 16. And I couldn't graduate high school early or I wouldn't be eligible for the free classes from being concurrently enrolled. Anyway if we want to continue this conversation we should move to private messaging. I don't want the topic to be closed for going off topic.

I was 18 when I started my BSN program (started at the univ at age 16). So fortunate to start my nursing career at age 21.

I'm 19 and I'll be starting in my junior year in fall - I'll graduate at 21 w/ my BSN. I started college actually before graduating HS because of dual-enrollment in my state, sooo yeah.

Edit: Just noticed i have the same story as mgp6! :)
