  1. Don't let other peoples grade judge your own. I was talking with my dad the other day about a girl in my class, he stopped me and asked "you know what that girl is going to be called when the programmed is over?" Me: (something mean) My Dad: "Nurse." For me it really hit hard. We are all in the same program and when we finish will all have the same degree that are all equal. It made me stop comparing myself to what others do and I now feel alot better.
  2. I drive 2 hours every day, my friend drives 3 and works everyday we are not in school. Its do-able. the drive doesn't bother me but that is what I use as my break from school/study. Sure I sometimes wish I lived 1minute from school but I don't have that option. This semester my clinical are actually either closer to me or just as far as if I would be living on campus. For me, living off campus is a good choice.
  3. I'm wanting to purchase pen lights to sell at school as a cohort to raise money for our pinning ceremony. I'm wanting like a blue penlight with orange writing that says "Bearkat Nurses!" or something in the such.
  4. I'm in my third week of nursing school and had a huge hit in the face today. Our first check off is next Wednesday and we have to use a fellow student as a patient, addressing them, explaining to them what we are doing all that just as if it were a real patient. Talking to people in the performance like way freaks me out. When I try to do it my throat closes and I feel like i am naked giving a national speech. A little background; I've always been this way. I never played sports in my life because of a fear of messing up in front of my peers. My problem isn't with potential patient or other people who I most likely won't meet again, it is with people like my class mates who have the next to years to criticize me. So how did you deal with this? What made you more comfortable etc? Please don't tell me just get over this, it's not that easy for me. Also I do not need anyone to tell me to quit and give up my dream
  5. Smooth is the word I'm looking for I guess lol. Thanks for all your help!
  6. I need STRAIGHT hemostats with NO TEETH. I can not find them anywhere. Even the company the school hires can not find them. Anyone know where I can get these?
  7. That OneNote, is suppose to be nursing** And now that I think of it I did have an RN that tried to discourage me. For me, it was insulting! But like someone else said, they chose the wrong career for themselves. They may have just got in the field for the money. If this is what you are passionate about, go for it!
  8. No one ever tried to discourage me from OneNote but they did try to discourage me from graduating High School a year early. I even had my principle tell me that I WOULD NOT do it! I knew what I wanted and it was the greatest decision I ever made. I am so happy with my life. I am 18 years old and start my junior year in my BSN next week. My advise, tune them out. You know what is right and what you want. You have to achieve your own goals, not others.
  9. Anyone takin microbiology I have the book and lab book for sale. Just email me
  10. For anyone taking microbiology, I have the book and lab book new that I need to get rid of. Just email me
  11. On the "view" tab at the top click "send to OneNote took" then open your Internet page, word doc, excel or PowerPoint and bring up your send to one note tool. There select "send to OneNote" it in the middle. It will this ask you how you want it placed it your notebook.
  12. If you have shoes you already like, I would stick with those. I have always worn Nike Shox and love them, so that's what I stayed with. I had to custom order mine though which was very pricey
  13. Google the Windows RT. they won't even make them anymore because they were such a failure and you can not get apps for them. I have an asus vivo RT and I am preparing to return my second one because of manufacture defects :/ I love this tablet, I think it's just the RT that's the problem
  14. I don't know if you have an iPad, but if you do you can try it out for free. Hands on experience is the best. I like it because its like a binder. You title you notebook and then can add sections to it. It easy to insert pictures or even whole or partial power points. And you can use a pen to draw or label! It's really just a great application for me
  15. My courses don't show til the day of class. That was the way it was at both my community college and university. Unless someone who happens to go to your school happens to reply you won't get an exact answer. My school has it posted on blackboard, otherwise just call the school real quick! :)
