You know you are in nursing school when ctxt

Lets start a fun thread that describes a nursing students way of life.

For examply always broke but gotta have those drug cards.

stuff like that

You know you are in nursing school when ....

your car looks like its lived in. :chuckle

Your friend comments that your car looks like a library. :uhoh3:

Lunch consists of chewing gum and a bag of peanuts. :balloons:

You are always broke but find money for a NCLEX - RN study guide and hold off on buying a new pair of jeans. :rotfl:

You know you're in NS when you go to your doctor's appointments and scrutinize the examiners health assessment techniques. Yes, BP's really are more accurate when you take the reading UNDER my thick Northface fleece!!

These were great!! All 37 pages had me bustin a gut!! I loved them!! I just hope my NS experience is just as "fun" ;)

When my 7 yo knows that there is a Hepatitis A, B and C.....

When that same 7yo gets excited when I forget things in my pockets from the hospital...

When doing laundry and you are so tired that not getting clean underwear is your top priority but rather having the uni clean

When for 30 years of your life you've never owned a coffee pot but now have a loving relationship with java....

P.S. and I agree with the C business.. I was 4.0 with prereqs.. and now I'm just a handful of students who have just passed all 3 acute tests.. 78 is passing for us..lol.. Cs get degrees!

you have't seen your friends since summer/winter break, and when you call they forgot who you were.:crying2:

you try to get drunk every night during the summer/winter break, knowing it won't happen again for a while.:chuckle

I like this one because it is soooo true!!! I am starting nursing school this fall and I am enjoying every single weekend this summer because i know I wont be able to go out for the next couple of years..

when you think that "hot dog sized" babbies are so cute!

when you start getting diaphoretic, and dispnea, your heart rate goes up... prior to open your book on a sunday just to study for a 300+ page test!

You know you are in NS when you cry for almost everything and the night before clinical you suddenly get diaphoretic. When you go to bed and dream about what you have studied a couple hours before. When you feel very afraid to screw things up especially when you are near to the end!

You know you are in NS when you pick an argument with your fiancee because he misreads the flashcards when testing you. For example:

Fiance: When should the patient inspect the sole of their feet with diabetes ?

Me: every day !

Fiance: Wrong for 9 days.

Me: no, I'm right and you are wrong!

My poor fiance thought the "q" was the number nine instead of meaning every.

ok i remember reading this thread so long ago, and I finally get to add to it now that I am in NS.

You know you are in nursing school when you ask your boyfriend in all seriousness if you can practice giving him an enema.

ooo wait..

also you know when you're in NS when your pulse is 145 and bp is 140/90 during skills evaluation. yeah that was me freaking out today.

It's only the 3rd week of school but it already seems like a week with only 2 exams is not too bad of a week!

You know you're in NS when...

- you're really shocked when others don't want to discuss "normal bowel movements" or "wound debridement" over lunch.

- family and friends avoid you because they don't want to be the subject of a physical assessment...AGAIN.

- you actually start using medical terminology in everyday conversation and have to be reminded that others don't know what things mean (e.g. "Oh my gosh, I thought my Mom was gonna have an MI when I told her about my new tattoo...")

- Your idea of "indulging" is a 15-minute nap when you should be reading.

:D
