I've never posted here before but I am going to be applying to Yale School of Nursing this fall for a 2015 start in the GEPN program, CNM/WHNP cohort. Wondering if there are others out there preparing to do the same? I'm heading down to their info session next week.
Wow, that's unfortunate I guess you can't be blame her for not doing your recommendation! Shingles can be painful from what I've learned. Just be grateful you had a back-up. I applied to FNP too!
Exactly! I'm glad she's doing better. She's still planning to do a recommendation for me for Columbia.
FNP seems to be the popular one, huh?

Exactly my thoughts...hopefully that means that, statistically speaking, we've got a better shot at getting into the PMHNP program. Obviously application > stats but the numbers game makes me feel a bit better while I wait. As much as I'm nervous about hearing about interviews, I'm glad we've got something in December. Otherwise there are some schools I won't hear anything from until February/March.
Just received an email that the first step of the application process is done! They're planning to get interview decisions out on December 15. Interviews are in January. And they're hoping to get acceptance decisions out no later than March 1! I'm getting so anxious! Good luck everyone.
By the way, is anyone going to the information session tomorrow?
I was pretty excited about that email! I wanted to go to this info session but I already had to take vacation time this week. I did at least get to do a campus drive-by earlier this year when my boyfriend's brother was finishing his master's at Yale. For those of you who don't live in the area, New Haven is a really seedy town. Orange (where the SON is) is definitely better, although I wish I'd been able to do a real tour of the facilities. Hopefully some of you guys got to a real info session!
I've only applied to two programs so far, but I've been impressed by Yale's proactive, encouraging emails. It seems that they're written very thoughtfully by a real person.
I went to Yale as an undergraduate and really loved New Haven. It certainly takes some adjustment period if you're not coming from an urban area in which most residents are living below the poverty line. The contrast between Yale's opulence and New Haven's poverty is hard to swallow sometimes.
That said, woohoo Yale School of Nursing!
