Yale 2015

Published

I've never posted here before but I am going to be applying to Yale School of Nursing this fall for a 2015 start in the GEPN program, CNM/WHNP cohort. Wondering if there are others out there preparing to do the same? I'm heading down to their info session next week.

I'm trying not to get ahead of myself but I keep looking at flights. It's doubtful but I hope they let us know sooner than the 15th because those prices keep climbing...

Where are you coming from?

Yeah unless you book like 3 months earlier especially with the holiday season it's probably going to be going up. :(

So Cal

Yeah unless you book like 3 months earlier especially with the holiday season it's probably going to be going up. :(

But aren't the interviews at the end of January? So maybe the prices will be a bit lower/better by then?

So, just got this email in regards to acceptance rate:

" The last two years we have received about 480 applications, and we have interviewed about 200 candidates. From the interview pool we have admitted between 120-125 candidates to arrive at our class of 80. It will probably be about that this year, at least that is the plan."

So roughly a 41% chance of getting an interview, and from the interviews a 60% chance of getting accepted! That's not too bad. Only 4 more weeks til we hear something. Eek!

Sounds cool! Hope this works out for us. :)

@ snoozyd, That's true it might go down by then but we still won't know until Dec. 15th so that only gives us about a month and a half ahead of time. Hopefully they will be cheaper by then.

I have anxiety about all of my applications, even with a plan A and B if I don't get in. I wish I had a fast forward button. Waiting drives me crazy. :)

Doing the applications itself gives me anxiety with worrying and calling about if transcripts and GRE scores were received and editing my personal statement, especially LETTER OF RECS....I like having the applications submitted better and waiting instead.

I am the opposite. If I have something I can be proactive about just the action itself is what I concentrate on. Now I am just obsessing about something completely out of my control. It's so not constructive. Ha.

Well, you can turn that into productivity! Why don't you find a hobby/volunteer or something to occupy yourself? :)

I am super productive and I have a full volunteer plate with at-risk pregnant women. :)
