No, but I called recently and was told that there would be two sessions during the day. 8a-12p, and 12p-4p. The person I spoke with said they should be sending out the rest of the info by the end of this week???

They haven't finalized whether the curriculum will be shortened yet. On the website (Graduate Entry Prespecialty in Nursing (GEPN) | Yale School of Nursing at the bottom of the page), it says that the specialty years will be shortened from 2 years to 1 year. So basically, 1 year for the RN portion and the next year for the MSN portion. I don't think that the curriculum re-design will affect previous classes. I believe the GEPN Class of 2014 will still have to do three years. The Class of 2015 and onwards may only have to do two. I see your point about the clinical rotations, but considering that the 2014 class would still be a year ahead of us, I don't think we will necessarily be on the same schedule. But the potential re-design is definitely on my list of "Things to Ask" and I'm pretty sure they'll end up discussing it on interview days.

snoozy, I was wondering about the same thing. I believe the main difference between filing as a graduate or 5th year undergrad is that you may have to include your parents' financial information? Definitely something I will need to get more clarification on, as I applied to Duke's ABSN program, but for now, I'm completing the FAFSA as a graduate student.

A simple Google search shows that this is incorrect. spaceshuttle, I'm in a similar predicament now. I've received one acceptance and two interview invites at schools that I really want to attend.

    Duke ABSN Fall 2015

Admissions is going to send a courtesy email to everyone about tentative dates for Duke Days in late Jan/early Feb. I think we hear about acceptances in late February. Duke Days will probably be in late March. It wouldn't make sense for them to have Duke Days first and then send out acceptance letters.

No, I didn't hear anything after the interview. I also didn't send a thank-you note (I will make sure to do this after other interviews so thank you for the reminder).

    Duke ABSN Fall 2015

From the email I received from admissions: "- In late January/early February, I will send out "Save The Date" announcements for Duke Days, our on-campus event for accepted students, so everyone can circle those dates as important, but this is just a way for students to get an idea of when the events are taking place - this will not be a letter of acceptance." They may have done it differently in the past but this year, I think Duke Days is only for accepted students. Also I think you can submit after the deadline, but I don't think you are in a good position to be accepted if you do that.

nonto, I'd recommend also looking at airbnb.com instead of a hotel. It's pretty affordable. I've used it when I've traveled to other cities and haven't had any issues.

Hey Guilty, we seem to be in a similar situation. I'm debating between flying to NY the day before and then taking the train to New Haven the day of my interview. The train would depart from Grand Central close to 6am and get to New Haven just before 8am. And then I would take the train back to NY (I am taking a mini-vacation and plan to stay in NY with a friend for the rest of the weekend) and fly back from NY. This is less inexpensive but has the potential stress of not waking up on time, missing my train, etc. My second option is to fly in New Haven and then stay the night at a hotel. As you mentioned, since New Haven is a small airport, it's more expensive to fly into. And then add on the cost of the hotel. But there's no stress about the train or anything. Just my 2 cents - I think if you can manage it, you should do the in-person interview! I've never been to Yale before and I'd rather spend some money now and see if I like the place than choose to enroll and end up regretting my decision because I never visited.

Elle, that is definitely an option! I am a bit afraid though of train delays or some other unfortunate event taking place that might make me late. I will be taking the train back to NY after the interview though.

This might be too early to ask, but for those going to visit, anyone have an idea of where they might stay? I'm going to call the hotel they suggested but I'd also like to be as cost-effective as possible (Read: cheap).
