I've never posted here before but I am going to be applying to Yale School of Nursing this fall for a 2015 start in the GEPN program, CNM/WHNP cohort. Wondering if there are others out there preparing to do the same? I'm heading down to their info session next week.

Info session was really informative. Melissa lead the session and she was so nice and personable! I was really impressed. And izalou, she mentioned having written the email. She said because we have a deadline to hand in applications, she wants to make sure admissions has deadlines so we don't wait around not knowing anything. She's very caring.

Anyway, I really enjoyed it and the facility is really nice.

Was there any mention of when the committee actually starts looking at applications?

They started at the deadline (well, Nov 3 since the deadline was a Saturday). The head of admissions is very strict with the deadlines so everything gets done in a timely fashion. So they've been looking at the applications for over a week now. They had 487 applicants this time around.

Do you know how many they accepted last year?

I don't know exactly how many, but they said they usually enroll 80 students.

They had discussed how they accept more in the MSN and dnp programs, but only enroll a certain number. I assume it's the same process for GEPN too. So on that note, they'd accept a little more, maybe 100, but only enroll 80 due to people declining their offers.

I'm trying not to get ahead of myself but I keep looking at flights. It's doubtful but I hope they let us know sooner than the 15th because those prices keep climbing...
