I've never posted here before but I am going to be applying to Yale School of Nursing this fall for a 2015 start in the GEPN program, CNM/WHNP cohort. Wondering if there are others out there preparing to do the same? I'm heading down to their info session next week.
Hi Everyone! I've been following this thread since I applied back in the Fall and finally made an account. I was accepted to the GEPN Adult Program and am now deciding between Yale and BC. I just called the financial aid office to inquire about the timeline of financial aid information and they said that an email will be coming by the end of the week. I know some of you are also probably waiting to hear back regarding financial aid information before making a decision, and wanted to share the information with you!
I also had my interview this morning for FNP specialty (just got the invite last week). It was kind of a tough interview for sure. They must do their RN-MSN interviews very differently , since it was definitely nothing like the conversational style that the GEPN interviewees wrote about. I honestly have no idea how I did- eek! Does anyone know when RN decisions are coming out?
Jae919, what made the interview "tough" in your opinion? What kind of focus did they have in the questions they asked you? I'm applying for the midwifery specialty and am curious about your interview experience. Did you interview with an assistant professor? How long was your interview? Thanks in advance!
PS. According to all the correspondence I've gotten, decisions should be out April 1st.
Hello all,
I was curious if anyone had looked at the US News 2016 school rankings. Also, how valid is that information? Looking at what school to go to and can't help being somewhat influenced by that (although I know it is skewed based on who responds).
Yale went 7 to 22 and Vanderbilt 16 to 11. Columbia tied at 11. Thanks :) Secondly, if anyone is debating these three schools I would be curious which you are considering accepting and your reasons.
From what I've read, the rankings don't hold much significance since they are based off of surveys that are sent to the administrative offices of each school. This article explains it far better than I could: Your Annual Reminder to Ignore the U.S. News & World Report College Rankings — The Atlantic
With that said though, the drop in ranking was quite surprising to me. Although I know that they aren't the most valid rankings, it did cause me to pause and think about it (still thinking about it, actually).
Also, I just received my financial aid via email.

Hakhama, I was invited via email about a week ago.
