  1. Congrats! Thanks for the info.
  2. Hello! I applied for the 2015-2016 NHSC scholar program and I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything yet. There's a Nurse Corps scholarship thread but I haven't seen any posts about this year's NHSC application. The wait is killing me!
  3. Hey all, Is anyone else applying to the National Health Service Corps? I'm working on my essays and wondering if anyone knows if spaces are considered characters for the character limit. Such a nit-picky question, I know!
  4. If you haven't received your financial aid info yet, you may want to double check with the financial aid office that they have received your completed FAFSA
  5. I haven't accepted yet, but I'm going to. I wanted to know what kind of financial aid I was being offered and I needed to get the $600 deposit together. There was discussion about making a Facebook group, but no one was sure about whether or not the admissions office would make an "official" group.
  6. Oops! Thanks, PaiNP1. Clearly, this is something that is also on my mind!
  7. Has anyone received a financial aid package yet?
  8. Is anyone else planning to relocate from the bay area? I'm looking into moving options and am ultimately wondering if anyone would be interested in splitting the cost of a pod/u-box/shipping container type thing.
  9. She did also mention that if you're currently (or have previously) worked with someone you really like, you might ask them if they'd be willing to precept for you in the future. They can't find placements for you in some states (CA, OR, and NY were mentioned-- probably others), but if you can find someone there you're good to go.
  10. In for midwifery too!! I am ELATED!!!!!
  11. I applied to OHSU.
  12. This pretty much sums up how I'm feeling TubeChop - The Best Marshmallow Test on YouTube -Theo - Ten Minutes! Ten MInutes! Ten Minutes!!!! (00:18)
  13. Seriously, I was doing just fine until I read that email and now I'm stuck in near-heart attack mode! Perhaps I should take Melissa's advice and binge watch Downton Abbey...
  14. In the meantime, the anticipation is killing me!
  15. It seems like alum of different programs largely seem to vouch for their own programs and cast shade on others. YSN alums have told me that Columbia's program is becoming so much less competitive and more overpriced, and Columbia alum tell me that YSN is on shaky ground. It seems to me like it's just sharp elbows though; both programs (along with UCSF, Vandy, etc) all have great NCLEX pass rates, and I keep meeting interesting alum from all of the programs doing inspiring work. I have faith that all of these programs can produce awesome nurses, especially if you feel like you "click" with the students and faculty.
