Oh boy! This month has been very busy for me. I was pinned on 12/12. Our grades/transcripts were sent in to the AL BoN on 12/18. I paid the BON and NCLEX on 12/21. I interviewed for a job 12/21. I got the official call with a job offer 12/26, which I accepted. I got my ATT to test today. I have my physical on 1/3 and my new hire class (paperwork, insurance, badge, parking sticker, etc.) on 1/4. Hospital orientaion is 1/8. Needless to say, I am feeling a bit lost and overwhelmed by it all. It seems like yesterday that I was sitting in the campus cafeteria listening to our instructors/advisors do the new student orientation. Now, in less than 2 weeks, I'll be sitting in a room with at least 2 of my classmates (possibly 3) listening to orientation for our first jobs as RNs. The best part is that I, a new grad, got what would be my dream job: Pediatrics day shift. (I'm a night shift person, but I have children and so my schedule needs to reflect what's feasible with them.)
Any other new grads want to share their December graduation experience? Graduating in December makes it feel like you're really starting a new chapter in life in January with all the changes that come with graduating.

Congratulations!!
Isn't it amazing that it is all over with? I still can't fully relax because I feel like I am on Christmas break and school is starting back up next week. It will feel odd to drive past the University and not turn in.
I have similar feelings as you although I graduated in November. I took/passed my NCLEX on December 8 but waited until the January orientation (Jan 8) to start my job. I am excited about our fresh new start in the new year.
I also got my dream job, working at a level 3 NICU. I will be working nights, but I am a night owl and I think I will get a better grasp on the complexities of my patients in the night time environment. I also have children, but they are older, so I plan to sleep while they are at school.

Congratulationssssssssssssssssss
We start our new jobs the same day! Congrats. Yes, mine are elementary aged. I'll probably switch to night shift when they get older and capable of short periods alone.

Congrats, dansamy! It really is an amazing time that you're going through right now. Although I finished up last December, I remember thinking one minute that it was never going to end, then all of the sudden wondering how in the heck so many things had happened so quickly.

Congrats to you! Same here! got pinned 12/14, received ATT 12/16, start my new job in the NICU on 1/8 and I too have kids so days was best for me. I am exited about my dream job as well but nervous about taking NCLEX (I know this is normal). I just want to make sure I give myself enough time to study for it.
We start the same day in the same unit! The 8-9-10 are hospital orientation days. Jan 12 is my first day in the NICU. I am excited.
It would be funny if you guys were in the same town/same hospital.

Congrats to all.
I also got pinned last month (on the 13th). I already had an intern position lined up for Jan. 15th. My job hunting started in November. It was such a huge shock. I have a background in IT, and I'm so used to having to sing and dance my way through a job interview to get anybody to call me back. This was a completely different experience. The managers really made me feel like they wanted/needed me... and instead of putting me on the defensive, they were trying to recruit me. I went to one job fair and received three job offers within the week. Went to a couple more interviews with different hospitals and got an offer from each. I just couldn't believe it.
