Is there a medical word that you absolutely hate? Or one that you can never seem to pronounce correctly?
Hate:
Mispronounce:
Prophylaxis. I ALWAYS say prophylaxicks.
I have a co-worker that says Cefazolin wrong and is convinced she is right. Drives me nuts.
That's funny. On your mention of Bactroban (mupirocin), I thought you had it wrong, because I've been saying 'Muciprocin' at work, ha ha ... it just shows how crazy all of what we have to try to remember is.
I always want to say "Myooki-pry-on"
And "byood-neh-sone" for the other one.
Not. Even. Close.
Speaking of mispronunciation: I've never been able to say "asterisk" correctly. I can say "ass-ter-isk", but run all those syllables together and it ALWAYS comes out "asterix". So instead of sounding uneducated, I usually say "that little star thingie above the 8 on the keyboard". Haha!
