Is there a medical word that you absolutely hate? Or one that you can never seem to pronounce correctly?
Hate:
Mispronounce:
Prophylaxis. I ALWAYS say prophylaxicks.
I have a co-worker that says Cefazolin wrong and is convinced she is right. Drives me nuts.
Canigraduate, RN. What is a Mayo enema ?
Use of the quote feature will help determine why you asked cani an apparently random question. Ain't nobody got time to go back through 26 pages of posts!!
In the meantime, Google is your friend. While you're looking up the ingredients of a Mayo enema, you might also check out the "M&M" enema. And no, it does not involve small round candy coated chocolates.
Thanks for the info. I've probably had 30 more years of nursing than you ! What's a HHH enema ? And have you ever given a Terpentine enema ??
Been doing this for almost 37 years now.
HHH enema-High, Hot and a Hell of a lot. Ah, those were the days...
As for turpentine enema, heard of it, never gave one. Don't think they're much in vogue anymore lol.

I can still remember the 1st time I heard someone, my 1st semester LVN instructor, pronounce "tachypnea".
Until that moment, I'd only read it. [emoji23]
I thought it was "tachy-puh-knee-uh". [emoji23][emoji23]
I literally stopped her and said, wait, wait, that's how you say it?! (We were in a lab at school)
That was approx 4 yrs ago, so please excuse my ignorance!
Now, I think "tachypneic" sounds super cool!
