don't overthink the questions.......boards aren't as scary as people make them out to be. you've made it through school, you'll make it through boards. good luck! in my day boards lasted 3 whole days and you didn't know if you passed for 2 months!

#1) ASSESS ASSESS ASSESS - this also means check, validate, observe, monitor, watch, etc.
#2) meds - NVD (generally speaking)
#3) when in doubt, go with the answer that you wouldn't yourself do LOL (it actually does work)

Hello:
Took the boards in 2005. A friend of mine took them in 2007. She had a lot of psych on her exam, including many meds. It really is the luck of the draw. I did help me that I was already a LpN so I have been through the board thing before.... I trust that you have used your resources to study?? The more questions that you practice the better. I had quite a few patient assignment questions. ex.. you have 4 patients,,, etc. which one would you assess first??? Which skill could the CNA or Lpn do and which one must you, yourself perform. I also had about 5: check all that apply questions:banghead:. Don't like those that much.... Get a good nights sleep the night before, (don't pick up a book the night before either).... dress comfortably, allow enough time and then some...... Just anything to lessen your stress level... RELAX........ You will be fine. Take care and good luck..... Let us know... thanks....:redbeathe:saint:

Our review instructor told us one of the big things on boards is always assume the worst... they expect you to only have the knowledge of a nurse with 2 weeks experience - and if its a choice then you're able to actually do it (you don't go - "I can't give 02 - there's no dr.'s order).

You will do a great job!
If you have time, I would look over the stuff on infection control (for example, I would really know what diseases require droplet, respiratory precautions, etc). It seems like they always want to know about room assignments etc.

Hi....I'm a nursing professor and also teach for a company that does NCLEX review. Assuming that you have put in a good bit of study time and practice answering NCLEX type questions, my biggest piece of advice would be to take your time answering the questions. Speed is your greatest enemy, and time....your friend. Most people (and this is a fact) don't use even half the time allowed to complete the exam.
Good luck!

Other meds that probably will be on the test are: thorazine and digoxin.
I read in previous posts from people who have already taken NCLEX that they had meds that never heard before.
Any idea what meds are they?
