  1. hey don't feel bad at all, I went for my interview and a question as simple as tell me about yourself totally had me frozen. I was so embarrasses. Good luck with your search.
  2. any last minute advice on what to brush up on or things that will help me get through this test?
  3. I start nursing school May 23rd, and what I have found that works for me while taking pre-reqs (I have a 5 & 3 year old & married) is to stock up on paper plates, cups, forks, knives, and spoons, cut down on all the meal preparations,we eat hot dogs, grill cheeses, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, spagetti-o's, tuna fish, oddles of noodles, lots of fruits, can vegatables, etc. anything I can put together fast, saves alot of time, I save the cleaning and laundry for the weekend. I hope I am able to keep this same plan when I start.
  4. Sorry my post did not go through on the 21st, but what I had wrote was that I took the TEAS last month and not only did I do horribily but my two lowest scores were in math & science. My overall composite score was a 69%, English 92%, math 42%, science 63% and english 78% and I still got accepted to the college of my choice. They looked at me as a whole, my transcripts, essay and recommendation letters and I had got an A in my math course in college and B's in all my sciences. Your grade is great compared to mine. Don't stress over it, if you are not comfortable with that grade than try and take it again. GOOD LUCK!
  5. HUP starts out with $24-$26.75 and more for experience and sign on bonuses.
  6. I work at HUP in the OR, but not as a nurse. I do know that this is definitely a teaching hospital. I don't know how true it is but I've heard that you can make a little more working in the OR. Another thing their benefits are great and I love it.
  7. fun2care, When I first joined allnurses.com, I would read through this forum and get discouraged by all the 4.0's and the high percentile that people have ranked in on the pre-nursing exam. But after reading your replies to people like me, I've learned to think positive because just as you said, God knows when it's our turn and yours is here! :biggringi CONGRATULATIONS :balloons: AND GOOD LUCK YOU REALLY INSPIRED ME AND I WILL NEVER GIVE UP! thank you.
  8. Thank you for your words of encouragement and you best to believe I have gone to far to give up. I have 50 credits, all pre-reqs done for an ASN, and 4 more classes to go towards my BSN. If I do not get into Harcum, I have a spot in Lasalle, but for 07' and god knows, as hard as it is to get into a program I will go for that or Holy Family. God bless and Good luck to you and the school of your choice:balloons:
  9. I actual was attending CCP, and have applied there but did not get accepted because I scored low on the AHT. I also applied to Lasalle, Holy family and Harcum college. I could have started the program for lasalle in sept 06, but I needed to finish up 4 classes b4 I could start and had I would of known that I would not have taken this semester off. I got accepted to holy family, but as a matriculating student and that will be another three years or so b4 i'm finish. I am waiting to hear from harcum because this program starts the end of May until Dec 07', and I really want to get into Harcum. I will know something by next week. So enough of me, CONGRATULATIONS:balloons: AND GOOD LUCK:biggringi ! what two hospital programs did you get accepted to and have you decided on where you wanted to go.
  10. Now that's the spirit you need to have, think positive and leave the rest up to god. GOOD LUCK! AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU!
  11. I'm still waiting for a letter, but CONGRATULATIONS! AND GOOD LUCK!
  12. Hey I'm in the same boat The school that I have applied to said that there's no pass or fail for the TEAS test that I took, it was only part of the decision making. I did really well in English and reading, Okay in science and bad in math and I'm assuming that they would look more so at how you did in the math and science. Just as you said it's hard to try and not think of it, but I try to stay positive.
  13. Thanks everyone for sharing that info. but after viewing this web site I have become discourage because I see you guys are doing very well(keep up the good work). Instead of me being that "A" student, I am a "B" student and we do have less students who are trying to get into our philadelphia schools, for example, the school I am waiting for has 25 seats with 100 applicants which they prefer you have all pre-reqs done, essay, 2 letters of recommendation, resume and the TEAS test which they have no certain criteria for. So I was just wondering how much of a chance I had, but I see that the harder you work, the better your chances are. Thanks again all!
  14. let us know what you did to get accepted how were your grades? what was your GPA? what test did you take and how did you do?
