Rude, mean, gossipy, unprofessional, uptight, bossy, unforgiving, non-friend making and judgmental?

Probably because nurses are also just people and all subgroups of people seem to have members that have one or more of these unfortunate traits...

I must be lucky because I haven't worked with a single nurse who fits into any of these categories! Most have been friendly and helpful. A bit different on the internet though but with almost a million members on this site it's bound to end up that way.

HEY! I resemble that remark!

Haha hybr1d I'm sure they are I wasn't saying their not. It's just a sarcastic remark to statements like "why are nurses so mean?". Because their people and sometimes people (even nurses) act mean or are mean. Just like some nurses, like other people ROCK [emoji6]

Specializes in ICU.

OP is not a nurse. Weird.

Specializes in Dialysis.

But is a nursing student...so is going to school in hopes of becoming part of a group that s/he has determined is mean and rude. Weird

Nice generalization. So... why are you in this forum? Yeah, it´s weird.

Why are nurses so caring, comforting, good friends, forgiving, non-judgmental, good listeners, responsible, accountable, smiling (even when the day goes down the drain...) ?

Read the OP. She was being tongue in cheek, not cheeky.

Poorly executed, but she even came back to clarify.

A lot of you have completely missed the OP's point.

She was making it a point to shut down the people who actually judge nurses this way. :)

Ok. Haha I'm going to take this as a reminder of how badly things can be misinterpreted online. I wasn't saying anything bad about nurses AT ALL. I was mocking broad generalizations that claim that any group is so this or so that but saying all groups of people ( nurses, firefighters, stay at home moms, whatever) will be made up of some people who are awesome, kind, honest, hardworking, and will also have other people who are less fantastic,(mean, rude etc). Meaning that one trait cannot be used to accurately describe a whole group of people because the individuals in that group will act in different ways.

It was a lot more fun and less wordy the way I first put it but whatevs...[emoji12]
