UFV September 2016 Applicants
As someone currently in the program the number one piece of advice I would give would be to make sure ALL your electives are done prior to starting. Eng 105, Stats 104/106, a 100 level Anthro, Psych or Soc course...it will make your life in the program way easier. Like if your planning on starting in Sept, and you don't have something done, take it this Summer. It is worth whatever adjustments you'll have to make. The only one I didn't have done was stats, and I am now forced to take it online during what should have been my break (I'm a third year fast track) Anyways, I have an stats exam today and am loathing it, so i figured I would procrastinate studying for bit to drop that random piece of advice. Good luck to all :-)

Why are nurses so.....?
Ok. Haha I'm going to take this as a reminder of how badly things can be misinterpreted online. I wasn't saying anything bad about nurses AT ALL. I was mocking broad generalizations that claim that any group is so this or so that but saying all groups of people ( nurses, firefighters, stay at home moms, whatever) will be made up of some people who are awesome, kind, honest, hardworking, and will also have other people who are less fantastic,(mean, rude etc). Meaning that one trait cannot be used to accurately describe a whole group of people because the individuals in that group will act in different ways. It was a lot more fun and less wordy the way I first put it but whatevs...[emoji12]

Why are nurses so.....?
Haha hybr1d I'm sure they are I wasn't saying their not. It's just a sarcastic remark to statements like "why are nurses so mean?". Because their people and sometimes people (even nurses) act mean or are mean. Just like some nurses, like other people ROCK [emoji6]

Why are nurses so.....?
Rude, mean, gossipy, unprofessional, uptight, bossy, unforgiving, non-friend making and judgmental? Probably because nurses are also just people and all subgroups of people seem to have members that have one or more of these unfortunate traits...

Christian School and Atheism
It's very weird to me that you chose to attend a Christian school and are now complaining about the "biased" curriculum. Of course there's a lens on the way the content and classes are presented...it's their RELIGION. There is no hidden agenda here, you knew this going in. My suggestion would be to leave. It seriously confuses me when people attend schools/events taught by religious groups they disagree with and then act bewildered/ offended by the audacity of the program to actually expect them to follow along with it. I wouldn't attend a Muslim academy and then bash the Quran...

UFV 3 year fast track Questions
I did get in last year! We just started our summer semester so now I'm in 2nd year! Time flies!! The program is a lot of work there is no way around it but it is completely doable. Don't be lulled into a false sense of security in the 1st month of 1st year lol they ease you in slow but when things pick up they pick up. The amount of things we are expected to do/know will blow your mind so try and keep up and stay organized!! Personally still working on that one but eventually you have no choice lol. Congrats and good luck in the fall! I am sure your eager but believe me when I say just try to RELAX AND ENJOY YOUR SUMMER!! This time next year doing three heavy semesters back to back you'll be begging for time off! All the best!!

Ufv 2015 sept intake
Hey! I am currently in semester 2 of UFV's nursing program, I started in Sept. This time last year I was you guys and I remember how anxious I was! Last year what they did was two waves of information session invites. The first wave from what we gathered in hindsight were the "top applicants" as far as grades went. They got their invite and attended the information session 1st. The second wave of email invites came about a week after, and (again, they never told us, this is just speculation on my part) it seemed to be those who didn't necessary have straight A's but had extensive volunteer/work experience (i.e care aids, paramedics etc). Everyone who got an invite to the information session completed the written part of the application (trust me, its not an essay, more like 3 short answer questions) and got an interviews. About 100 people got invites, and 48 of us got in, so once you get a invite, your down to about a 50/50 chance. This is how things worked last year, I have no idea if they are using the same format, or what they may have changed, so don't quote me on it! Good luck to you all! The program is A LOT of work (don't let the 1st month of 1st semester fool you! ) but definitely worth it!

Nursing programs in BC....
Hi! I'm a first year BSN student at the University of the Fraser Valley. Trinity is very expensive. My aunt works there and I did look into it but for those tuition rates your not getting anything special compared to other schools. I don't know too much about the other schools I did apply and get accepted to kwantlen but UFV was my 1st choice due to location. I know that its pretty competitive out there in general. Good luck!! :-D
