I have called several places about working as an LVN and not ONE will call me back!!! What gives with people who don't return phone calls? I hate this in my personal life too btw. People that I call, text, never hear back from them!!!!

Managers are extremely busy, so unless they are actively recruiting they may not return phone calls. While this is frustrating for applicants, it isn't practical sometimes.
On average, a clinic or facility can expect to receive 50-200 resumes for one position in this market. Managers cannot keep up and meet the demands of their regular duties too.

Why are you calling instead of applying?

Have you filled out any applications? Because making cold calls won't get you a job.

I know it's frustrating to have that happen, but more and more these days it is a common occurrence which I think the current job market exacerbates. I had to get over my feeling that a courteous reply is just what any facility should do, if only because word-of-mouth reputation was a valuable commodity in business as well as in interpersonal relationships.
Bottom line, when I was job hunting I learned to really appreciate the email, the call and the occasional polite rejection letter. In my state the nursing job market is over-saturated with job seekers and companies behave accordingly.
There are lots of helpful strategies in the career-related forums here. Wishing you all the best to get the job you are hoping for.

Applying for a position is done through the company's on line application process.
You need to follow that process to be considered for any position.
Best of luck, let us know how it's going.

My thought as well. Submit a resume, cover letter and formally apply for a job if you want a call back.

...probably for the same reason I don't answer my door when uninvited people come knocking. I have no time, no interest and no need for whatever it is they're offering.

If you look anything like your avatar, that's also not likely helping...

Unsolicited resumes/cover letters are automatically rejected in my facility. Only online applications with resumes attached are considered.

Change your username if that is your real name. This is an open forum and those managers you want a call back from might see this post and not be happy/impressed by it.
Also, I've been treated worse by a major company I actually interviewed with (many people I know had the same experience). It's frustrating, but you just have to move forward and not dwell on it.

Every once in a while, I will receive a polite rejection for an application I submitted, usually like 6 months later lol. And yes, if you are just calling around, you need to check their career websites and apply through the proper channels.
